mcmanus9442 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I have a 12300 (ES) on my apex encore that gets stuck at post code 55. Works fine with any other CPU. Do i need a special bios or ME for this to work? This CPU previously worked fine on a z690 aqua. Quote
Mr. Fox Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Strange code to see... it is gnerally related to memory. 1 Quote

Farjam Posted June 24 Posted June 24 (edited) Hello again Is there is known issue with LN2 jumper on Z790 Apex encore? keep getting 55 code right after enabling it (no matter the temperature) or CPUs, tried 4-5 different BIOS with 14900k,14900kf and 13700k with no luck, only 5% of the times it boot to windows with LN2 jumper enabled but at the next restart it stuck on 55 again. Am I doing something wrong? Edited June 24 by Farjam Quote
Seby Posted June 24 Posted June 24 (edited) Make sure RSVD_1 and RSVD_2 switch are set to Off Edit: Actually having it boot ever is weird if you were to have RSVD_2 enabled, I guess also make sure to not be using Maximus Tweak Mode 2, as this loads skews that only work well at ln2 temp. Thank you It's been a frustrating week as all my 14XX chips had cold bug around -100 (and even one around -80), after all maybe I can enjoy a full pot 13700k this week lol Edited June 24 by Farjam Quote

Then see how cold you can go in OS. If you have a cold bug, then raise CPU Input Voltage, first to 2.3 to see if it makes any difference. You can try up to 2.7 if it does help. 1 Quote

joe90br Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Hi, Is it possible to use Windosw Xp in Apex Encore? I connected ssd that used in my Z690 Apex, but freeze and show blue screen. Is it necessary change for other acpi.sys file? Quote

Is it necessary change for other acpi.sys file? Boot with Z690 Apex, open device manager, install these drivers to all devices that are missing drivers. Then boot with Z790 Apex Encore. You will need PS/2 probably to reinstall USB drivers. https://www.mediafire.com/file/dap6k6n96t27l1a/DP_Ported_DriversCollection_v24.7z/file Thanks to George King on MSFN 2 1 Quote

joe90br Posted July 3 Posted July 3 My Z690 Apex have one bug with memory frequency. I never got frequency above of 7000 with 14th generation and 6000 with 12th generation. I bought one Apex Encore and frequency 8000 is possible now. I want to use memory above of 8000. What the best voltage settings using only heatsinks and using LN2? Thanks! Quote
Seby Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) UNOFFICIAL BIOS for Z790 Apex Encore and Z790 Apex I made to fix Multicore Enhancement not working on the laptop CPUs. Also adds AVX-512 Microcode for 12th gen, and fixes tri/quadfire. Must use USB BIOS Flashback - First boot might take a long time, I think it might be because of the custom bios name, but don't worry about it. If you get d4, just reboot. Z790 Apex Encore 9905 Laptop MCE Fix (Rename to A5470.CAP) Z790 Apex 9905 Laptop MCE Fix (Rename to MZ790A.CAP) Alternatively, you can use XTU to remove power limits. Edited July 23 by Seby 1 2 Quote
