It has been suggested to pick a card with 128bit bus this time to avoid hunting rare cards that DON'T have ddr3 and I think thisis a good idea. Proposed generations are Geforce 8000, 9000, 200 series or AMD HD 3000, 4000, 5000 series). RJGamesAhoy Posted March 31, 2023 Share Posted March 31, 2023 I think if HD4000 is chosen, RV740 is the play, generally complaints surround memory limitations and card varients, all 4770/4750 cards have GDDR5 from what i can find, the cards are also different than RV710, and repeating RV710 would be a poor idea i think. Doesnt seem in the spirit of a "cheap" comp if you need the latest platform to be competitive 6870 is a good alternative to 4870 imo.
