Luebke Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 geforce 6 - 200? why so "new" stuff? i´d like a geforce 2 - 6 competition or radeon 7000 - x1000 ok might be an interesting competition but not for my weak system Quote
Hampti Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Nice comp this month. But i would like to see also an CF comp next month.....Better for me because i've lots more of ATI cards here. Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted July 11, 2011 Crew Posted July 11, 2011 it's common knowledge massman can be bribed... so start to donate for your August compo Quote
reggiesanchez Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 To avoid CPU dependence, why not use GPU score for this kind of challenge instead ot the ''P'' (Performance) score ? This is your answer might make validation hard but it is getting pretty old having to sit these contests out. You guys have great contests and I could be wrong but I dont think you promote gulftown products. That being said another awsome contest that a gulftown chip will be needed for. Quote
Rasparthe Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 It will be interesting to see if this ends up the case...Currently Gulftown leads in 3 of 5 stages, 2nd in one and 3rd in the other. Gulftown sweep? Quote
knopflerbruce Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I don't think GT is that relevant for the geforce 6 or 7 stages. A decent SB is more than enough. Maybe the other 3, though? Quote
Bobnova Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 It's vantage, I'd be surprised if it wasn't a GT sweep. Very odd benchmark choice for what is theoretically a GPU contest IMO. Quote
knopflerbruce Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I guess the problem is that the older tests are influenced by the CPU anyway on the newer cards, especially in SLI. A good SB won't be too bad, or what? Quote
Massman Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 I'd like to see head-to-head comparisons here. I think Gulftown's performance effect on the overall score is overrated by many. Quote
knopflerbruce Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I'd like to see head-to-head comparisons here. I think Gulftown's performance effect on the overall score is overrated by many. Yeah, I think most use them because they can, not because of the "insane advantage". Quote
Gamer Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 At certain mhz you have some gain with Gulftown. It stopped at about 4200mhz with the 6800GS. With 9800GX2 it was about 4800Mhz. It's all in the card clocks and soldering skills Quote
Massman Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 That's gain from the game tests, not the cpu score. Quote
Bobnova Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 It's hard to argue with a 30% higher CPU score in vantage, all it has to do is match or get close to the GPU tests. Quote
The Mutt Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) Anybody having any luck with 6-series cards on P67 chipset? I´ve tried everything and as soon as I install the second card I just get a black screen with a blinking thing like in DOS but without any text... Will try on X58 later this week and hope for better luck. Hey, it worked on X58! Got it working on P67 also but i doesn´t help... Edited July 31, 2011 by The Mutt update... Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted July 31, 2011 Crew Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) Too bad Massman and Gamer failed to do a decent 285 score ( on card seems defect after voltmodding ) otherwise we could have nailed this one... congratz to all participants !! Edited August 1, 2011 by Leeghoofd Quote
Hampti Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) pah i want to post a score but database say always "oops........". edit: found the faulty. was a too big photo. Edited July 31, 2011 by Hampti Quote
