Massman
Hey guys, Since liquid helium gets used more and more ... I created a new cooling type category! From now on, Hwbot supports LHe-based results LOL. So, ditch your LN2 tanks and get some better cooling equipment! Just a heads-up
K404
LOL I wanna submit some Winchester results marked as L-He cooled. "I appear to have missed the coldbug threshold by... oohh....195oC"
tiborrr
That's a slight error margin, K404
Nazar
You was so impressed playing with helium in Finland and decided to add new category BTW what is the cost of LHe in Europe?
Massman
Depends from place to place. I think around 10~15€ per liter is the average price, but the biggest issue is that you need A LOT of it to bench comfortable. I was impressed by the scaling of the Ph-II. The actual LHe clocking feels very much like benching with LN2, although you need a whole team to really do it well .
Nazar
So to push one cpu to the limit during one benchsession, you need to pay for LHe twice as more than cpu costs itself
Massman
haha ... yeah, that's basicly it. That's also the reason why you need to be sure the CPU is good. using LHe with an average retail 955 is pointless and in fact just a waste of money. Thats just too much I'd prefer LN2 with 1,2€ per Liter =) But good that you have added the LHE
