It would be really, really, really nice if all the rules were in one place where everybody could see them at any time.

Currently they're in a few dozen different threads on page 42 of 2419 in said threads, or maybe in the actual rules section, except the rules section is out of date, or maybe only in massman's head.

Having the all in one spot where we can read them (which excludes massman's head), would be really nice.

I would like that more than new sig images, which is saying something as I'd really like new sig images.

No official comment? Really?

Do you fellows have any idea how hard it is to educate a new bencher on the rules when they're spread out through dozens of threads with vaguely or less relevant titles and 50+ pages?

Not helping spread benching, that's for sure.

Heads up. In the staff forum we now have a subforum dedicated to the rules update. Just posting so you know we're actually working on it.

Looks good, I hope they all run to several pages of ideas...with decisive action :)

oh well....lets hope u guys finish the damn thing...my teammates been after my head for a long time coz they cant find the rules...

Fyi, this will be how we deal with the approval of the rules:

1) Finalize new rules within staff

2) Propose new rules to PUBLIC: check if there are things we've forgotten

3) Re-write rules based on public feedback

4) Propose finalized rules to Team Captains + vote

5) If 67% yes => put rules in place

6) If <67% yes => re-write rules based on feedback from team captains

7) Propose finalized rules to Team Captains + vote

8) If 50% yes => put rules in place

9) If <50% yes => "these are the new rules anyway"

Regarding the 67 and 50% approval rate limits: it's just to lower the barrier. We don't want to end up in a situation where there's no approval at all. So, there has to be a moment where eventually the last step is "use these rules".

What stage are we at currently?
