Thanks for your input, now that you mentioned it I tried and it's indeed getting boosted ~300ms. Will figure out something :)

any way to have like a 5-10s count down where it locks your keyboard and mouse until the bench finishes

Change result from seconds to decimal points per second. That way we won't have the issue like with wP 32 getting down to silly numbers ;)

algorithm used?

 

I know, will make the leap to Chudnovsky but I don't want to rely on GMP/MPIR :(

 

This is put on hold now as I have other stuff to finish first.

Chudnovsky formula + binary splitting is the way to go. :D

MPRI is an interesting project, too bad it doesn't include the assembly optimized for the latest CPUs (sandy/ivy and bulldozer).

you should give it a try, it's pretty straightforward and easy to use.
