Massman Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Passed by Guanghua today (local computer diy district) to pick up a Rasberry Pi and saw the Z87 marketing is starting to kick in. Only came across Asus advertising though. Quote
Massman Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 No, you can't buy anything. It's just banners up in the streets ... I assume that's okay? Quote
dinos22 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 chipset name though, that's not as far as i know Quote
dinos22 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 i thought it extended to chipset name if not part of the actual product name Quote
Massman Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Oh okay ... had no idea about that. It was rather weird to see only Asus banners up in the streets. Now it kind of makes sense. Quote
hokiealumnus Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 i thought it extended to chipset name if not part of the actual product name Z87 is part of the product name on all of the channel boards. Z87 Deluxe, Z87 Pro, Z87-A, Z87 WS, etc. etc. Quote
sin0822 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 yea i thought as long as it is in the product name it is okay, but maybe not for that kind of thing. Quote
dinos22 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Z87 is part of the product name on all of the channel boards. Z87 Deluxe, Z87 Pro, Z87-A, Z87 WS, etc. etc. Correct, so if you say Z87X-OC or Z87 Deluxe it is a model name. Z87 on it's own is not a model name but chipset name. Anyway it seems the idea of NDA is still confusing or .... Quote
Massman Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 VR-Zone pulled their article? http://chinese.vr-zone.com/65167/dont-care-intel-nda-asus-z87-mobo-ad-show-at-guanghua-05282013/ Quote
Booj Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Its real weird that we can mention the names of the boards, but we have to say 8 series chipsets. Makes a lot of sense Quote
hokiealumnus Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Correct, so if you say Z87X-OC or Z87 Deluxe it is a model name. Z87 on it's own is not a model name but chipset name. Anyway it seems the idea of NDA is still confusing or .... Heh, honestly, I can't read what comes after "Z87" on those posters, so it may or may not be the model number. Quote
hokiealumnus Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Heh, the NDA date is always also under NDA. Best I feel safe saying is 'soon', but you probably already know that considering the amount of pre-release PR going on. A long rumored date has been out there, but it's ever so slightly wrong. Sorry, that's the best I can do. Others may feel they can share more. Quote
Alex@ro Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 yeah, all the stores from here list 2 jun as available for haswell.... Quote
