Massman
Passed by Guanghua today (local computer diy district) to pick up a Rasberry Pi and saw the Z87 marketing is starting to kick in. Only came across Asus advertising though.

Massman
No, you can't buy anything. It's just banners up in the streets ... I assume that's okay?
dinos22
chipset name though, that's not as far as i know

dinos22
i thought it extended to chipset name if not part of the actual product name
slamms
It is break NDA
Massman
Oh okay ... had no idea about that. It was rather weird to see only Asus banners up in the streets. Now it kind of makes sense.
hokiealumnus
i thought it extended to chipset name if not part of the actual product name Z87 is part of the product name on all of the channel boards. Z87 Deluxe, Z87 Pro, Z87-A, Z87 WS, etc. etc.
sin0822
yea i thought as long as it is in the product name it is okay, but maybe not for that kind of thing.
dinos22
Z87 is part of the product name on all of the channel boards. Z87 Deluxe, Z87 Pro, Z87-A, Z87 WS, etc. etc. Correct, so if you say Z87X-OC or Z87 Deluxe it is a model name. Z87 on it's own is not a model name but chipset name. Anyway it seems the idea of NDA is still confusing or ....

Booj
Its real weird that we can mention the names of the boards, but we have to say 8 series chipsets. Makes a lot of sense
sin0822
prob at request of the vendor
hokiealumnus
Correct, so if you say Z87X-OC or Z87 Deluxe it is a model name. Z87 on it's own is not a model name but chipset name. Anyway it seems the idea of NDA is still confusing or .... Heh, honestly, I can't read what comes after "Z87" on those posters, so it may or may not be the model number. Gamer
When is the NDA for 4770k ?
hokiealumnus
Heh, the NDA date is always also under NDA. Best I feel safe saying is 'soon', but you probably already know that considering the amount of pre-release PR going on. A long rumored date has been out there, but it's ever so slightly wrong. Sorry, that's the best I can do. Others may feel they can share more.
