I do know about the L5 bridge, as that is why a Sempron shows up as a MP on boards that do not officially support Semprons, but that was not my point. The point was that until there is a "fix" for CPU-Z, and that's all anybody uses for identification at the present time, Then that's what should be used to place processors in the proper category, not what somebody "says" the processor is. Also, Intentional Misrepresentation = Cheating, but that's not what I'm saying is going on here. I was saying that if you let these submissions slide on somebody's "word", that it opens the gates for unscrupulous people to exploit this and submit false entries that may never be found or challenged. All I want is it to be fair across the board. Sorry I'm using you as an example Sam, but I can assure you it's not personal.

Speaking frankly, given that I have shown that all CPU-Z versions work correctly, and that is the only proof that can realistically be excepted, I think the submissions that are supposedly mis-read should be placed in the category that CPU-Z reads them. Any other excuse is simply exploiting a hole in the verification process, and opens the database up to intentional mis-representation of identified processors using the same excuse.

Flagging that one too. Besides, that was his only submission for that CPU, so it was probably an entry mistake. You had a dozen submissions on three different processors.

I'll set up something shortly. I have plenty of Palominos. If you have one set up, why not test ver. 1.55 and see if that does it too. Thanks Alex. I know it takes time, and you'll try to be fair. On the pictures though, you could put any picture you wanted up but you'll still never really know if that's the processor that was used, right? So the only real thing you have to go by is CPU-Z, correct? I'm just sayin....

Question: Are all of these submissions in the wrong category, or is there really a problem with CPU-Z? I've already reported these, and a mod moved them to what is believed to be the proper class, only to have the person who submitted them move them back. Thus, I reported them again. Today I see more of the same type submission from the same person. If it IS a CPU-Z error, how do we really know what type of chip it is? I'd really like to know this, because I have MP's that I'd like to have scored in the XP classes too. Let me pose a different question then. In the socket A Sempron categories most (99%)of the SS's in CPU-Z have no numerical designation in the CPU PSN or specification lines for whatever Sempron is installled. Example: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1363245 Yet I see a few entries that do. Example: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=651371 CPU-Z version doesn't seem to matter because I can find another like the above one using version 1.55 too. What bothers me is that even with an overclocked FSB, it still reads as a 2200+. Why would it not read higher like the other Athlon CPU's do when they're overclocked? Here's the kicker, this one does: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=847707 That's actually a 2300+ Sempron overclocked to 2600+ specs. Why?, and why does it not work the same for all of them?

I'll field that question. It is possible to have a Sempron show up as an unknown XP-M if the motherboard is not a NF motherboard and the CPU is bridge or pin modded to a mobile CPU. This is actually a huge problem in the socket A categories because it's so easy to work a cheat into the mix. I already know I've been taken advantage of by said cheats, but because of the inconsistencies with CPU-Z there is no real way to prove it, or stop it. Taking the word of the submissour is simply not good enough.

I have no problem admitting defeat....as long as it's to a valid submission. You're too late, deleting that SS and replacing it will not help you. I have a SS of the original one that you posted and removed, which if it was legit as you say, you would have not removed it. Enjoy it. I already know it's a fraud.
