  1. I dunno...? I'm guessing it's gotta be your digestive system - Or how fast you can clean your drawers when the benching results come out.
  2. Saw this when I tried to submit in the GeForce 500 series part of the comp.
  3. Here's a pic of my pride and joy of the Abits I have. It's an unmodded NF7 v2.0 that's close to perfect condition. Factory stock right down to the Abit chipset cooler. Only thing different is the obvious additional cooler for the SB and that's easily removed you know. Posting with it right now just to give it a little runtime since I rarely use it and it's always worked perfectly since I've had it. No guys, it's not for sale either..... But I'd be willing to bet if I did the mods, it would be a good one.
  4. I like this idea of this comp as well. I'll have to try the Abit's I have and see how well they'll do. I'll even give the KV7 a shot just for kicks while I'm at it.
  5. Had the same problem at first but then remembered about installing the patch. http://www.futuremark.com/download/3dmark03patch360/ If this isn't the case I don't know what else to tell you but in my case it fixed the validation problem I was having.
  6. Well I do have a 754 Gigabyte board I could fire up just to have some fun in this - If the board itself still works, haven't tried it in ages and really need to find out if it's still working. I realize there is no way a 754 system will be in the running for prizes but it's about having fun to me and to see how well I can make it do regardless.
  7. Nice boards in here! I'm lucky enough to have a few of those as well.
  8. Uhhhh..... Not so fast there Opty. Remember the May comp? Dual Socket A's are also 462/K7's as well.
  9. I tried a run at settings equal to or close to my CAS 4 result with a CAS 5 setting as Don Dan had suggested. I have to agree, if it can do it at CAS 4 it should also work with a CAS 5 setting. After trying it several times, it never booted with a CAS 5 setting at the tested speeds yet did with a CAS 4 setting. With this testing I did on my own and with the results it showed I have to agree that CAS 4 should be left for DDR2, no DDR3 entries allowed for it and I have removed my DDR3 / CAS 4 submission from the comp. Yeah it was nice to see that but if it's a flaw or bug of somekind it's not accurate and this needs to be addressed. I still have all the info for reposting that IF the staff here thinks it's OK but I don't believe that's gonna happen. Most if not all DDR2 sticks will run with a CAS 6 setting and many DDR3 sticks will too as we know but DDR3 should easily mop the floor with DDR2 in the literal sense related to results.
  10. I noted when taking a peek at my hardware library it shows only one CPU type shown as if I had X amount of these CPUs. Last night it said I had X amount of i2600(?) CPUs and today it's saying I have x amount of X2 4200 Manchester CPUs. I do not own a single one of these chips and I know it has to be a bug. Posted a screenie of what I'm getting at - No way I could or would own this many of a given CPU model.
  11. Thank you! I see that as ridiculous too. The choice of what league you happen to be in is up to the individual and yes, if you want to jump up, you can if you want to. I have to agree that if you set a WR you should get credit for doing just that since after all, it's a record right? I will also throw in in regard to one having to spend $$, that's entirely up to the individual bencher. If they want to pursue a WR, it's their call to assume the risks by doing so and I do realize vs sponsored benchers this is an uphill battle with no easy way down but again it's the bencher's choice to do so. As to whether benching newer stuff is enthusiastic according to the rules about the Enthusiast League, that's up to you whether you want to do it that way or not. Some folks simply don't have the means to step up so they have to do it however they can. It doesn't serve any purpose to look down on them at all in a condescending manner except to prove one's arrogance. It may seem to be a museum but there are those amongst us that know better so please, don't go downing anybody or everybody in the Enthusiast League. The rules stated for what is what are clear and yes I do come out of the museum from time to time and do my thing with newer hardware even if I'm still in that league - That's my call to be there and I'm the one who'll have to deal with it. I like seeing what I can do with what I have and I learn by doing each time I pull off a run, that's how I see it and no prob to do it. I do understand what's meant by newer stuff not doing so well vs old to have good points but there is no need to insult the entire Enthusiast League with the museum reference. It's something we all have to deal with according to whatever league we're in like it or not and the choice whether one stays where they are or not is up to the bencher except in cases where they may have no choice based in an individual's circumstances. As for those who could step up, no one is twisting anybody's arm to say they will have to do it or remain where they are now. For my part, I like the challenge of competing with the guys in leagues above me and seeing how well I can do vs their results and hey, one day I just might make the move if things work out for me - You never know but understand that's my call to step up or not if it's possible to do so. I'm benching with limited means ATM so I'm making do with what I have to do it with but having a working knowlege of HVAC makes a big difference. BTW I do have some museum-grade relics that can throw down and I can prove it too.
  12. Double post due to browser problem while trying to edit the above - Sorry about that!
  13. I've discovered that's true to an extent but the CPU itself affects this too. We know some chipsets do span more than one socket type and of course a newer socket CPU has a good chance of beating one from an older socket. This is where I believe lumping all results from a given chipset will result in the newest CPU's on boards that can run a given chipset will tend to outdo those systems with older model CPUs running the same chipset. The NF3-250 would be a good example of this - Most of these are indeed Socket 754 based but there are a few 939 based systems that use this chipset too and with the 939's better OC'ing capabilities, it would stand a very good chance of dominating this ranking. This would create a situation of the 939's owning this chipset class outright. The very fact a 939's IMC is inherently better than a 754's will allow it a good chance to do better overall since RAM speeds come into play when doing this kind of benching. As we know there are only so many dividers available to use but when you are running the lowest divider for max FSB speeds, RAM stability comes into play and a 939's better IMC would then become a factor. With a really good set of sticks and a good 939 CPU such as a San Diego chip, it's almost a given the 939 would win everytime vs a 754 with the same RAM. One more thing is that a newer model board based on a given chipset will probrably have more and better options for tweaking in the first place. More options normally means more ways of fine tuning your system and with the fact a newer socket CPU has a good chance of beating an older socket CPU anyway, to me it's clear for the sake of fair competiton there is no need to change it from how it is now. This is why I believe the way it is now is the way it should remain. Allowing a crossover of CPU models with the same chipsets will create a "Ringer" situation for who's going to do well or who's not.
  14. I agree - There is nothing to compare against historically but then again there's a first time for everything. Innovation's like this can and will give some "Whacky" looking results because it's never been seen before, probrably never been attempted before either with this kind of configuration and the data from such a run/set of runs is useful. Whenever you go into uncharted territory, you'll see some strange things that's entirely new and I believe a new historical precident is being made right here; Paco being the one making it happen and justly deserves the credit for his innovation. Just like when Placid and I did 485+ Ref speed with a Socket 754, we're seeing the limits or boundaries being pushed back once more - Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride guys. EDIT: Nice run Paco!
  15. Looks like I'm not the only one having trouble with it. Tried to submit an entry in the UnRaR 2011 bench and after filling in the required info, I went to submit it, then saw a warning about it requiring videocard info even though UnRaR is not a 3D bench. Noted the dropdown box at the top was set for 3D 99 or something and UnRaR was not one fo the benches you could select. I'm guessing whatever is in the dropbox at the time is what it tries to go with. Tried it with CPU-Z in the box instead but then it changed like it tried to enter that into the CPU-Z rankings.
  16. Uh huh. We know how the rumor mill works. I'll be looking to see what you manage when "Whatever" shows up on your doorstep.
  17. I'm sure you'll do something for me to worry about later. BTW nice run with those T-Breds.
