The official GIGABYTE H55 miniITX contest thread.

Mine had reboot loops issues after doing mod but it never saw cold, it eventually just stopped working while pretesting on air with a 650. It just loops now. My bath and bake seemed to help none at all even after all mods removed. You win some and lose some, thats the name of the game. O well time to see if i can pull a results out my ass in the AMD 01 challenge with almost no pretesting done. -

I have plenty of hypers here, and after we are done we can go to skatepark, see if i can crack a few more ribs and shatter a wrist perfecting my 180 ollie to 50/50 grind on the bench to ollie 180, that is if they fixed the bench since my ribs broke it. -

Yah it's my frequent flyer price. Comes with time. Took me a year of non stop benching to get that price, I use to pay what you pay. -

Ln2 situation is rental dewar is 50c a day and cost me with tax like 36 to fill one ( 30L ), my dewar is in shipping atm. Has to be filled by 12 noon saturday or your bumming. -

Best to bring one guy or find a way to tag along with msimax if he's coming. Black dudes are cool, I'm a minority here, most of my buds are black. -

Cookie, Can you explain the difference or the benefits of the CBB mod you posted versus just changing the resistance to 0K on this resistor? -

hmm I wouldn't go that far but the one survivor I have left is obviously not TWKR 42. -

Sure theres a number of things you can do....remove resistor and connect the 2 points with solder. bridge the top of the resistor with solder. Last you can solder a wire in on each side of resistor and use a jumper pin on a fan header from a old mobo. Basically you want 0K reading at that res. IIRC its like .75X k ohms nominally. -

If testing those pins you will test one pin in socket and all resistors in general area both sides. When you find continuity you test other pin in socket and other side of resistor. Just solder across that resistor and you should be good to go. -

It's actually preety slow No need to guess. you will find continuity at a resistor on both sides and each of these 2 points on all 1156 boards. http://chew.ln2cooling.com/Max%20III%20Extreme/Hard%20mods/IMG_2671.JPG Ok here' you go....... clarkdale CBB mod point circled green according to pin outs. -

Actually thuban IMC will not play a role, as i was saying there's only a couple board that clock highe but the performance is slack.....move to a couple other boards and all hit a wall at 920 and have performance of the board that can do 1000 max cold. so since deneb can do 920....and clocks higher and has high cpc performance.....it's guranteed win.....it will play out like this. The more effecient board tuned for ultimate overall performance and a very fast card excluding 5XXX series on ln2. My prediction from ati camp is 4890/4870 with favor towards 4870 if someone really goes all out with mods. As far as nvidia, i will leave that prediction to someone more knowlegable on NV. I might toss up a result but i won't have time to play hard. I think i have one 965 left that would be well suited to 01 and a decent 4890, board will be CH3 or MSI. I might even favor a damn good set of d9's @ 6-5-5 over hypers at 6-6-6. -

I call 965/955 winning this over thuban. Only one thuban in world can match 955/965 for raw clocks...... Only one board is capable of insane ram speed with thuban, that speed is sheared to 2000 when cold and bandwidth is not that great etc deneb faster cpc. -

Your putting words in my mouth. If anything I gave every "tip" possible without saying it flat out that thuban would not win this part of contest -

I will vouch for the mobo used , he screwed up when he took his screenshot and has times a tad slower with it. Also he has many photos to back it up. If anyone want's to call me a liar and be unsportsman like feel free to reject it
