  1. What's the UCBench score for this rig? I like that the bench is "disabled", my WR will last forever
  2. I feel that if you complete the task you should get the top score anyway. After all, it's based on a fair bit of luck - it's a competition, not a lottery
  3. Small typo in stage 2? SuperPI 1M 40486 (should be 80486?) I could be wrong, just thought I'd ask, anyway
  4. Not the worst idea i've seen, but it feels strange if you can get more points from stepping down a notch. You can always ask, is it easier to win the Premier League because it's got 20 teams compared to Championship, with it's 24 teams? I could be wrong here, but it feels reasonable to assume that most people who run air/water for benchmarking do it because they lack a certain skill that you need before stepping up to the subzero level. With this in mind I wonder if it's fair that you move to extreme and start running subzero, and then lose points because you have less people to compete with (but a higher percentage with lots of skill and experience). I could see this work, if you make sure that the extreme scores beating the top enthusiast score gets at least the same amount of points (rewarding Dancop with at least 88.3p for his score as his score is faster than Suzuki's - the XTU case looks better). Another thing to consider is that before we did not have to edit "false" air cooled subs, no? I mean, it was very low priority. With this new system it's a high priority task for sure.
  5. Classified sticks that come with mini-ePowers and 10" PCB
  6. IMO there should be achievements for all sockets - but I understand if it's very low priority. I guess these are mostly for us nutcases
  7. I smell free S940 mem freq WR This i have time to do!
  8. I see I lack 1m skills. Weird that my 32m's are decent. Maybe because I'm the only one stubborn enough to pour for half an hour these days (OKOK, it's been a while...)?
  9. I think they work on other cards as well, like the 1280ML. I know someone used a pair of vf900's on one of the 1882ix's once... so I'm not the first guy to do this that cooler looks alot nicer, too.
  10. Life is kicking my ass for a while (maybe till the end of July), so very little time to OCing etc lately. However, dear Movieman collected a few items for me, including an Areca 1882IX which goes into my daily driver. The tiny cooler is quite noisy and hot, so I had to upgrade... and my motto "never throw stuff away, you don't know what you might need later" was true - got a pair of VF700-Cu's to fit just perfect on it The only question is if I should add some sinks on the chips close to the memory stick, between the two heatsinks... they were passively cooled, but the TDP is 28W or something so they should survive with a little bit of airflow I guess.......? The Gen 3 one I got around the same time will be used for PCMark later The antistatic piece is to avoid direct contact between the cooler and the PCB. Don't think I really need it, but oh well... cost me nothing to put it there. I'm also very happy for avoiding the huge stock screws on the back, as they steal the slot behind the card. Now this is a standard dual slot card, I think
  11. Probably not a high priority task if it's alot of work.
  12. Red: Mandatory, Green: optional. You'll get used to it
  13. Winter is coming, so I started folding with some 7970's I got for cheap. I want to force 3D mode, and thought assigning the same profile to both modes in Afterburner. But, for some reason I cannot explain, there are no buttons that will let me - they're simply not there. The five global profile hotkey settings are present, but nothing below, where the missing options should've been. Any thoughts?
  14. What about 16B, then? 20 would be cool. It would be somewhat interesting in a few years - even wprime 1024m is not what it used to be because it's almost over before it really began
  15. If you don't mind... please do a 2nd setting which takes a bit longer. What about 32B? Sure, most people prefer short benchmarks, but something heavy is also worth considering.
  16. You need pictures, check the rules here for details: http://forum.hwbot.org/announcement.php?f=121
  17. Or manually select the proper amount? On a side note, if you bench a quad you're free to run 4 threads as many times as you want, right? Like, setting 4,4,4,4,4,4,4,4... as parameters.
  18. It's not completely full, still a few spots left in the column on the far right side
  19. So no point (pun intended:D) in running the old version, then?
  20. Didn't see this before. Very nice design by the looks of it
  21. Two and a half years ago I said that this was not normal (# of threads selected >> # of threads seen by windows => huge improvement). So, in the end I was right - but it doesn't help me now, does it... I think it's nuts to remove scores using a tweak that was legit for more than two years, it would've been better to just leave things as they were (given the time it's not a bug that destroys the competition as long as everyone knows about it) - like we've been doing with LOD for ages (technically it's not legit). Anyway, I'm not touching my own subs. This should've been taken care of about 900 days ago before people started posting bugged runs for hundreds of different CPUs and thinking legit tweraks were actually legit. Sorry if this causes extra work for good people, but there's no way I'm wasting my spare time deleting my own scores because other people screwed up. Period. I wasted enough time running the benchmark all for nothing
  22. There are a few issues with this... for example, you define efficiency where the only relevant measure is the CPU speed, which is wrong. Efficiency must be measured for the system as a whole, if not there's more or less how well the other parts perform - fast ram vs slow ram, some mobos are more efficient than others etc. The other issue is that efficiency improves with a lower CPU multiplier, so someone running 6000Mhz WILL have better efficiency than those running 6600MHz if the only difference is the CPU multiplier. I don't mind having a ranking like this for fun, but not for points.
  23. I wouldn't mind if there was a "use setup X" type of thing. Like, you have to add the setup manually first, and then you can choose that setup as the "base setup" by checking a box or something.
  24. Apart from the receipt thing it would be based on trust. However, the rest of the system is also based on trust (level of sponsorship), so why not let that apply to the ES part of the game, too? I can easily show ebay documents regarding the possibly current gen ES's I own. That SHOULD be a valid exception, as ebay chips are not seeded - they're sold. "Anyone" can buy them
