Im not a whiner and im not against ES chips, I wish i was lucky enough to get them so let me get that out there first but come on now, when ES chips on average range 500mhz (i5 perfect example) or so above retail when is it too much? PS I know not every ES is a stong clocker either but every single new intel CPU i670,i660,i661 (we wont count 980x as its not public retail yet) the top ten results are the ES chips that are godlike, every work record as well. How do you compete with that being someone that pays for my own goods? Honestly not being cocky I have as much skill clocking as the next day, I spring for ln2 gear but all the cold and tweaking in the world wouldnt get those results. I think there is a place for the ES results, I mean who doesnt love to see 7ghz spi runs etc but honestly its a huge turn off to me. Sorry for venting like this and im sure I will get flamed but Im just frustrated is all.

I think you should have and will get some good points for those
-
actually what it is is he is getting 80 points globally for his single core run with a sempron (not sure if because its unlocked it should be in dual right?) Same thing with a phenom that is unlocked to 4 core getting points in the dual core section. check out his profile page. Thats why he is not getting global for the i670. But he still should be getting team points with the dual core regardless so that is where the bug lies. Sorry broski!

I think with the changes made and alllllll these available HW boints available you should increase the HW boint cap to atleast 500. You were saying you could spend $175 on a setup and earn 670 hw boints but if you are already at the 300 cap you dont get squat to your personal score (team will get it I know) . Global is def harder to come by in the new revision so maybe even it out by increasing HW cap limit?
-
because you can replicate a bug doesnt make it valid this is def not a keepable score, why do you think you are so much faster than everyone else with higher clocks?

I can see how this is less about the money now in the sense of hardware. But I just feel now like the best of the best stuff is not worth it now, why push the bleeding edge without reward is what they are saying. A e6600 is more of a money maker than a 975 in the new version which just seems a bit backwards. You were talking about getting more sponsors. Why would they want to back you when you are in-directly forcing people to scour ebay and other forums looking for old hardware that is worth more points then jumping over to the egg to buy their newest products that are worth jack you know?
-
Ive read through this thread and the other one and still dont get how the points work. Maye a quick cheat sheet or something could be posted? Also I guess I will sell off my 4x5870s, 4 way board, w3570 etc and go back to 8800gtx's and c2d stuff. With the new point system the best spot will always be 1-2 generations behind the latest hardware.
