w prime top 20 validation problems
BenchZowner replied to joemehnert's topic in Submission & member moderation
If somebody wants to cheat he can cheat. But screenshot only is making it way easier. How difficult do you think it is to ms paint a score and alter the cpuz numbers ? -

w prime top 20 validation problems
BenchZowner replied to joemehnert's topic in Submission & member moderation
Come on guys something must be done here. Dare I say "drop the whole wPrime db & start a new one with the latest version of wPrime only" ? -

I try to focus on completing the semi-completed reviews and watch some movies in my HC room Unfortunately I can't think of another forum with the same kind of population and activity of XS for Xtreme Overclocking addicts. Everybody's welcome at my place and site, but if you want to register you must first bother into fixing my forums database corruption issue that prevents you from registering ( I really need to fix that, but the reviews are on the top of the queue under high priority and full affinity

ok seriously please ban this guy..
BenchZowner replied to Vivi's topic in Submission & member moderation
Yeah, I've already reported the score and Stelaras banned the jackass from team H.O.T. It's probably a kiddie wanting to win the GOOC 2009 Greek qualifiers by cheating... well... play with the fire and you'll get burned -
I just said that CPU-z validations can be altered ( faked ). Everybody knows that, and I know lots of people who can do it ( if they really wanted to ). I bet I can do it too, but I don't. Can you guarantee that nobody is doing it though ?

Validations mean nothing. It can be "hacked" relatively easy. 1 kidney down

Make sure you use the same drivers, as with the 9800GX2 drivers there are several differences in performance at CH & N between different driver versions.

Hi guys, Just noticed that one of my old runs was blocked for insufficient verification. After moving my site to another server I forgot to re-upload that specific screenshot. I've just edited the result & re-uploaded the screenshot. Could you please unblock it ? Here's the result: http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=593721

You need to download and install FutureMark's System Info HotFix February 2008. It's on futuremark's website

And the question with Vantage is...waste Nitrogen or run the cascade ? Jeez, 25 mins bench
-
Yes you can use it for AquaMark 3 as well
-
Shouldn't change anything performance related, it's just some HW Detection routines update, plus a newer version of direcpll.dll [ one of the files that have to do with HW detecion ]

That's red, not blue

Yes, some boards will automatically set the to work at DDR2-800, others won't and you'll need to set them up manually. It's easy. And you don't have to worry at all.
-
It's not a fault of the memory, nor a problem. With some motherboards you have to manually set your RAM to run at their rated frequency.

It's the same like the "normal" Ballistix, just with some "flashy" LEDs...apart from that they're both the same, and using Micron D9GMH chips [ the best chips for DDR2 ] They'll do at least what the average D9GMH kit can do...more or less ? depends on your luck. You can pick a kit which will do DDR2-1150 with 5-5-5-15 timings, you can also pick a kit which will reach DDR2-1250 with 5-5-5-15 timings...it's all about luck as long as you pick up a kit with D9GMH/D9GKX chips

Sad, but true

Agreed, totally. LoD is a tweak, that is used to give us better scores by lowering the Image Quality ( in general ), it's a cheat if you think of it like "the developers used a +1 LoD for this test, etc" but competition-wise...oh well...there would be no competition in 3D Mark2001SE if LoD is considered illegal. It would come down to who has the best 'connections' in various manufacturers to get the very best cherrypicked CPU/RAM/VGAs. What could be done for the guys not liking LoD would be a filter to provide results and charts with and without LoD ( having a "LoD Used" or "Not" field @ the submit results form )
