If i can bench 4133 12.11 on a 9900k with 2 cores enabled, but with 8 cores ram is not stable anymore, does this mean that ram is good but IMC is weak on ambient?

After big struggle i managed to boot 4666 and run gb3 @ 4740... 4700 bot is no go.

Well, on air kit doesn't boot XMP, but with CPU at subzero it boots..... so it's an IMC issue i suppose .

Atm i can't boot 4666c14 ... CPU on water, room temp 25C, CPU idle around 33C @Dancop btw, on what bios version is your apex bios based on?

Looking for a good cpu on ambient with strong IMC (4800+ C14)

Hope i have time in weekend to bench the above card. It's my first lighting edition so before i start i wanted to know if i need any "special" bios and/or a specific After Burner. Ty

5500@1.39 he mentioned in the post. If i recall well there were 29C in room when he tested that cpu

Never tried less than 1.5 sa. Went up to 1.6. And i.m talking here about xmp 4800c18 not c14. Either you are lucky or me beeing retarded ?

I"m curios how rare are the CPUs that can boot 4800 on ambient. I have a feeling that they are much more rare that ram. I tested on 2 binned 9900k and none could do 4700c18 with ht enabled, even if the best one could go to 5000 in single channel.

On all cores? Or ht disabled and fewer cores like 4 and below?

How many of the 4 chips could do 4800C14 on ambient? like 25C room temp?

Well, it should be stated clearly what ambient means. If you put your radiator in ice it's chilled water, but if you open the window in winter with -20C outside it's ambient. Personally, if you need your coat on while benching it's not ambient.

I spent 30+ hours onlyfor 699 score on i3 6100. (Not counting a week of fine tuning). It saddens me too to see that the scores cannot be differentiated, but nevertheless it was the right call

Tell us of your experiences IMC wise from tests you have done with same ram kit on 9900k and 9600k @websmile maybe you can tell your findings from testing lots of ram...

From my experience it's other way around.

That's weird. Never had this issue at c12 with 9900k. Played with 3, all binned, cb15 @5300 1.28-1.33v, and they all could go to 4200 c12. Only noticed big differences when going for high frequencies like 4600+

I'm starting to think that 9900k have weaker IMC on average than i though. I managed to boot 4700 dual channel with 2 cores active. 4800 is no go. I gave the kit to a friend with m10a and 9900k but he can't boot 4700 or 4800 in dual either. Feel free to share your experiences with 9th gen cpu and high speed ram

Anyone knows if the 4600 divider si broken on apex 11 same as 4200 one? With th c14 profile i use for testing ram i can boot 4666 but can.t boot 4600

I'm testing a 4800C18 kit on M11A and 9900k. The CPU can do 4200 12.11 (ram limit), and can boot single channel for validation 4900 in hot summer, 5000 with 20C room temp, so i assume it's a decent IMC. Problem with the 4800 kit is that i can't boot XMP. I tried bios 1005 and bios 033. Tried both xmp profiles, with auto and manual volatages (1.45/1.6 io/sa). Tried frequency range from 4600 to 4800. I dont't think my IMC is that week that cannot do 4600c18. I feel like i'm missing something, like i forgot a shitty setting... Tried trace centering on/off but did not had any impact. With MHC Full check enabled i get stuck at b1 and with it disabled i get stuck on 23
