CineBench seems a decent alternative for a CPU benchmark provided that is has or can be made to have a simple verification mechanism. At least it's rather popular outside the benching community so it should bring more people in.

In my opinion, the whole purpose of hardware points is that you can repeatedly earn them, whether it's 5 benchmarks on 10 cpus or 10 benchmarks on 5 cpus, so I don't mind having more, or even 'way too many' benchmarks with hardware points as there is already 'way too many' hardware you can earn them with. As for globals, I agree with Kenny. We can't keep '3D' tests that only scale with CPU frequency forever.

I've no idea how people keep finding good Cedarmills in 37xxA Costa Rica. All the ones I tried were pretty damn horrible, including a P4-631 which maxed out at 3.8GHz. Have you tried this chip on air?

Why can't "number of CPUs" drop menu appear only for CPUs that have multi-CPU support after you select a CPU model? ... kind of like "number of cores" drop menu currently appears for unlockable AMD.
