This is the default multi of that chip. Nothing unlocked.

Thanks, elmor. 3600 is now super easy.

Collection of bioses: Index of /AMD_k7 There you have the Mantarays, but I really only use my own bioses. I was using one of the latest Merlin's bioses (one of TaiPan ones) before that, never really liked the Mantarays XT. My old link to ClassicPlatforms' bios archive is not working anymore, not sure if not hidden already. Perhaps Scotty could help.

I've shared it long time ago, but here it is again: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByfNThxT1gbTaTFYTUg1a3p6VFk?usp=sharing 1T rev.2 and 2T rev.1. As a bonus, bioses for AN7 too: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByfNThxT1gbTVFR5R3RrVXNRRFE?usp=sharing

4x8GB TridentZ at 3200C14 pretty stable. One set is 3733C17, other one is 3600C17. Can't go over 3300, maybe the limit of my IMC or hitting the mem hole. 3200 divider doesn't POST at CAS lower than 18 (or 17 set in bios, which is rounded to next even number). 2666 divider is fine with lower CAS, despite tighter subtimings. Haven't tried lower VDIMM, might run just fine. Memtest 100% Blend custom, just 30min, don't want to torture this cpu a lot, since I have only one and plan to bench it on LN2 Aida

Have you tried the "portable" version from the beginning and DMI disabled + XOC enabled? I never install it, always use the one from provided zip. PS: I see you got 1.78.1 working, should be fine to use. 1.78.3 really is strange even on AM2 cpu/boards on XP, just look at the div VII submissions.

Can we all test at 4GHz or 5GHz, please. There's more to be optimized. I've tried Win7 x86, but it appears to be slower for me, but might try a diff version later. Just for a start

Challenger 2017 Div VII Round 1 Discussion
I.nfraR.ed replied to lanbonden's topic in HWBOT Competitions
It was refreshing to participate in a competition again after such a long time due to various reasons. Still searching for that golden AM2 Windsor F3. My 6000+ needs -45 for this CPU speed, which means low HTRef and RAM frequency and that hurts 32M. Got to work on that HD3870 late night yesterday, mod it, then fight with water leaking out of the CPU block, numerous driver re-installs, etc. But that card is really good and saved my @ss. Tight competition, just 0.3pts between #1 and #2 place . Good scores all around. -
Thanks, shared at a local forum, too.

Not going to buy anything this time, although temptation is strong Have 100% positive experience dealing with Michael, all pretested mems I've purchased from him do at least what is advertised, but most of the time even more.

The line between ambient water and chilled/cold
I.nfraR.ed replied to Elkim's topic in League Discussions
At -10 Russians are celebrating the warm weather. At -20 they put their shirt on. At -30 they even put a sweater. -
Then maybe something else is "failing". I see a lot of variance between different chips. Not that I've tested many, but over the net. If it is some SATA device, then it would just fail and not be recognized rather than preventing the board to POST, am I right?

Let me guess - you're benching 2D with high-end current-gen VGA. Try another VGA that can handle increased PCI-e clocks.

Tutorial: How to get free items with eBay and PayPal
I.nfraR.ed replied to Christian Ney's topic in Offtopic
My experience as a buyer is good overall, but I haven't sold anything on ebay. Tried once, the item didn't sell and I gave up. I've had about 3 cases on ebay: - One was for a VGA that never arrived, there was no real picture of it, no shipping confirmation, tracking or any response from the seller after the transaction. Ebay judget in my favor and it was the right thing. - Second one was a nice DFI LanParty Ultra-B, full retail packaging, etc. The price was high, but this is kind of a collector's item. Seller said board is like new, works fine. Not sure if he neglected working condition or actually tried to sell me a non-working board. It took him a looot of time to ship it after sending many messages. He was always saying "tomorrow". I had to cancel the deal after seeing this, but I wanted that board. He eventually shipped it and it arrived, but was not working - all capacitors were K.O. Fortunately after replacing them the board worked. I'm usually willing to cooperate, but this time opened a case and won. He was pissed. - Third time was a cheap s.939 CPU that got lost somehow during shipping, but I could see the seller is a honest guy, not trying to fool me. He issued a full refund, which I didn't request, so I sent him some money for compensation, because it was not his fault, nor mine. We both shared the loss this way. Generally I try to resolve issues directly with the buyer. However your experience is awful and after reading this I would never try to sell something on ebay again. -
Yes, of course. It has standby power when I try the clearcmos button. Anyway, running without a battery now. Btw, things are getting better 3733 is the maximum I can get at the moment, regardless of timings. Mems are capable for sure, maybe it is just my CPU's IMC.
-
I have turned it off from the power switch. It booted at default, but docp setting were still there.
-
Can't get it boot this way. Leaving it without battery for ~30min worked and all settings are still there in bios. It only happens with DOCP, manual is able to recover.

I think there are some differences in IMC or maybe the Infinity Fabric is the component limiting RAM overclock. Both my B-die kits can do over 4000 12-11-11 on Intel platform, so definitely capable. I've also noticed difference between my 1800X and 1700. While 3200 is easy with 1800X, it was on the edge with 1700. And all scores scale with Infinity Fabric clock which is the same as mem clock.
