  1. @elmor Loading DOCP Standard, then the XMP (3733C17 mems) boots at 3200. Then, tried raising bclk to see if 3600 will boot (skipping the mem hole) and it didn't boot. This leads to infinite reboot cycles and the board can't recover. Using clrcmos does not help, turning PSU power off doesn't help. Leaving just one module doesn't help. CPU is on ambient water. Happens for the second time, will probably need to remove battery again.
  2. w00t, 1900C12?
  3. 1001 works for me, updated from 0902 via ez flash menu after clear cmos.
  4. Try this one http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=167998 It's not optimized for benching though, just standard Win7 x64 SP1 Ultimate.
  5. Just to ease the newcomers I've slipstreamed required drivers for installing Windows 7 on Zen platform. This is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 RTM without tweaks for services, removed components, unattended settings, etc. It includes drivers from: USB 3.0 and 3.1 drivers found in "AMD all in 1 driver ver:16.50.2601" SATA Floppy Image ver:8.1.0.26 ASMedia SATA3 Driver ver:2.0.8.0 for X370 Download: https://mega.nz/#!J8ZGBRAA!Af6WYN8fVsQ48Oll4eCU9ZrtGRVL2ERZ3E3iN5g2T_0 for X470/570 Download: https://mega.nz/file/chkBDAYB#CrngA5O8PlrCZdZgnGfjBJ_nbE3_lzzR7ywOauxVc9Q How to create bootable USB drive: 1. Prepare an empty USB drive with 4GB or greater capacity. 2. Download rufus. I suggest portable version. 3. Open rufus and from the button next to "ISO Image" select your ISO. 4. Leave default settings (as on screenshot) and hit Start.
  6. Ok, my board is not dead. After staying more than 48 hours without battery in its retail box, it now booted fine. CPU is also fine. Also thanks Jon (elmor) for support!
  7. I was also thinking of providing a slipstreamed Win7 x64, but I'm currently having a problem with it on B350 motherboard, while it installed fine on Crosshair VI. Don't really know what is the problem, but if (when) I manage to solve it, I could share it on hwbot.
  8. No other solution for installing Windows 7. Drivers need to be slipstreamed. A good idea would be to slipstream the drivers, then share your ISO file with your team members.
  9. I have 4x8GB B-die and will get a new board today, so I'm going to test 4x8 if my 1800X is still alive.
  10. chew* is right, SOC 1.2V doesn't help with anything, leave it at 1.0V. Even on LN2 I didn't see a difference, but haven't played much with it to be 100% sure. So your mem is B-die then, good.
  11. For me 0902 booted 3200C12 from first time, while 8305 was going through F9 sycles before finally booting up. Try Taiphoon burner, IIRC the free version can read SPD. I'd say it is very likely your memory is not B-die. Are the primaries flat in the specs or something like 15-18-18? Also you can't adjust subtimings manually with current AGESA code, you can only change primaries in bios, all others are controlled by AMD and the strap you choose. elmor said the subtimings are just placeholders at the moment in case AMD unlocks them again in the future.
  12. Pi day https://www.google.com/search?q=pi+day&oq=pi+day&aqs=chrome..69i57.1366j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  13. Try bios flashback, remove battery, leave for one day, etc. Yours still shows some sign of life, while mine is not reacting to anything - basically just power button is lit and couple of other LEDs.
  14. You won't gain much over single-core XFR frequency in the case of 1800X. It requires a big increase in volts. You will see a better scaling with temperature in this case. I'm sceptical you would pass 4.2 even on 1.5V with your current cooling configuration. It won't kill your CPU though, I've seen accidental 1.7V on water.
  15. Try 16-16-16 first, because it rounds up to the nearest even CAS, however on my system 3200 was straight boot with new bios. Same at 133.4 BCLK. Updated to 0902 Performance is on par with 8503, however I can't boot 4.1 anymore. It was working with 1.38V before, now it is stuck at 55 code no matter the voltage. Everything else is the same as on older bios, 4GHz works fine. 133.4x30.75 = 55 code 133.4x30.50 = 55 133.4x30.25 = 55 133.4x30.00 = BOOT PS: Setting CCX ratios from windows works. Edit: Strange thing is over 31 ratio it works. So there's something like a hole between 30 and 31. Edit2: In fact it is not related to ratios, because 100x30.50 works, but 100x40.25 doesn't. The hole is from 4 to 4.1GHz.
  16. Ok, but what about LN2? I was going to freeze it today.
  17. chew*, here's your wprime on Win7 x64 SP1, full auto in bios, CPU running at 3.7GHz on load. No tweaks.
  18. I could reproduce it on Windows 7 x64 SP1 and everything on default in bios with 1800X. The system shuts down (8 code on Hero). Tried with OC and manual settings, same thing. Had it pass once though (on 4.1GHz).
  19. Ok, I understand the reasoning behind not adding the connectors. At least we have reading points. My problem is all my hardware is retail from the store and if I solder connectors to the reading points, it will void the warranty. Usually I don't care about warranty when there's some solid reason of voiding it, but in this case I would like to keep things at stock due to the high risk something goes bad and it's not really a cheap board for my country standards. Am I safe to assume that this bricking situation only happens with auto update over internet? I don't even have an internet connection on my bench systems. I will try the new bios, but 5803 seems fine in terms of performance, so I might stick with it for a while. Thanks again for all the work you and ROG team are doing for the community. I expect some more extreme board in the near future though, so this is one of the reasons I don't want to modify the Hero in any way, which will help me sell it. The AM3 coolers support idea is brilliant though and a big selling point. Thumbs up. PS: LLC seems to be working now, not sure what was the problem before. It seems LLC was stuck at lvl5 which overshoots with about 100mV. Level 1 and 2 seem to be the best for me.
  20. @elmor, thanks! So for bios flashing we have a SPI header to recover from this brick situation. I'm missing 2 things on this board: 1) dual EEPROM bios chips, preferably socketed with hw switch 2) voltage read points in the form of connectors with supplied voltage cables Perhaps 1) is somehow limited by the platform. For 2) I don't know why noone adds these anymore, they are much more convenient than the current measurement points. Can we have the pinout of the header?
  21. Full manual mode. I always measure with DMM. Maybe it depends on some other values. I will test more in the evening. Bios 5803
  22. @elmor Any words about LLC levels? What I see is big overvolt on any of the levels - about +0.1V load above what is set in bios and +0.2 in idle. Am I doing something wrong?
  23. Booting 3200 divider with 2x8GB B-die is easy. You just need to wait for the F9 - shutdown cycle. The board shuts down 5 times on F9 POST code, then boots. If 12-12-12-12 doesn't work for your directly, start from 15-15-15-15-36, then bump DRAM voltage if needed and set 12-12-12-12. I guess most reviewers didn't wait for the "training?". Maybe it sets each timing per cycle? Not sure, maybe elmor could answer. Just playing around, still on stock cooler, which is by the way pretty fine...and that's the weakest Wraith cooler. Now off to bclk OC.
