  1. Efficiency without high cpu clocks won't get me far. This is my only result with the chip on LN2.
  2. Both seem about right. Thanks for the help and good luck in the competition! You have the tools and the knowledge
  3. 1.5Ω for 6800K and 0.7Ω for 5800K I didn't use the slow mode. I was booting at 1.55V for the cpu and 1.45V for the NB, then gradually increase cpu voltage in ET. It was the second session, benched several hours on the first one and about 2 hours for the second. It died at 1.55V when I tried to increase bclk from 117 to 118 in ET (no voltage change in settings, just the bclk). Then tried to power on the board, but it seemed to have a short, because psu protection was kicking in. Stopped benching and dried everything carefully checking the board, no visual burn on the mosfets. Then tried it with both cpus and guess that's what killed the 5800, stupid me The old board turned off immediately with 8-pin cpu power connector attached, the new one keeps running. Hopefully the new board is still alive, otherwise I will have a hard time with RMA'ing everything if it gets accepted at all. Do a working board show something on the debug display when powered on without a cpu?
  4. Nice score for the clocks Good job!
  5. Can I ask somebody with UP4 check what post code is displayed on the debug led when no cpu installed? Something failed last week and I thought it's the board, because then I tried with 5800K and it was switching off immediately (I think the PSU protection kicks off). So I bought another UP4, but when I start the board only 2 segments on the debug display flash for a blink of an eye and it turns off (the led). Board stays on, but does not post. It's the same with both cpus and without a cpu installed. I though if both cpus are dead it should display 00, no? It would be pity if the faulty board killed the other cpu too when I tried it I'm scared to try the dead board again, so I will just throw it, don't want to risk the PSU too.
  6. Thanks to websmile. I'm sure they can go higher on these timings, but the cpu has a bad IMC. Heck I'm not even pumping too much voltage through them. My "pot" brings them down to -100 (measured on the bottom of the ramsink) veeery slow.
  7. 310 euro, which is approximately $415 with an average salary for the country of 370 euro.
  8. It happens all the time for me. Have to click on the recalculate link in the sidebar.
  9. I'll try higher with gelid paste if I manage to get LN2 next week.
  10. Great one. Now move to Sempron 145, because I need someone to push me go higher, there's more in my chip
  11. The trick needs several tries. Try to hold the paperclip while you hit the power button or put it just after the start. I even managed to flash a DFI 790FX bios over the 990FXA-UD3 (had it on autoexec.bat on one of the usb sticks) But then revived the board with the same trick
  12. Rofl, this is considered as the best FM2 board, I can't imagine how good are the others
  13. Haha, that's clearly fake. You couldn't even cut the cpuz windows correctly. And where's your cpu tab? 3dmark windows is also cut at the bottom. Not to mention exactly same hardware and frequencies, same subtest scores. Common, do you think we are so stupid? It's so obvious... You will be banned shortly. Edit: The only thing you're right about. It's not photoshop, it's paint
  14. Looking at global AMD 1M rankings it doesn't show my best Phenom II X4 965 result. Instead, it shows an older result Edit: After recalculation of my points and achievements it now shows a third score, but still not the right one.
  15. Nice scores with 3870. I should revise mine.
  16. Maybe I have #1 already, but it will fall short, I'm sure.
  17. I could be just trolling this time, who knows Will have to wait for the next LN2 delivery for 32M, had a lot of troubles, but got it working at the end.
  18. Not bad, I think. How is your board/cpu clocking ram? I have problems over 1200, but have tried BBSE only.
  19. My info might be outdated, because I haven't checked that from a long time, but Z68 and P67 were more efficient with Sandy than Z77 last time I tried. Maybe Z77 bioses are now mature enough, because when I tried, it was some early MVF bios.
  20. Not sure where I need to post this. I had problems with Gigabyte FA85X-UP4 - updated the main bios, restarted and tried to change some settings. Saved and restarted, then it was stuck at 84 code. Apparently, the main bios got corrupted (I guess during the flash process and trying to change some settings and save them triggered the bad block). Board was trying to load from backup bios, but what I got was just a blueish gradient screen with a gigabyte text. It seems the board didn't detect main bios is corrupted and that's why it didn't rewrite it with the backup bios. I tried different ram and cpu and what not, but didn't go further than that. Shortcut keys didn't work. So then I searched for the datasheet of the bios chips - MX25L6406E. According to the datasheet pin #7 is HOLD and pin #4 is GND, so I took one paperclip, shorted the pins and turned on the board. It booted and I released the short. Luckily it detected the main bios is corrupted and reflashed it with the backup. It might be useful for other people. This method should work for most of dual-bios Gigabyte boards.
  21. Anyone tried this combination of cpu, board and bios? I can't seem to increase the bus even 1MHz over default. If I change it in bios, board overclocking fails. When in windows it just freezes as soon as I hit apply in ET. Maybe the culprit is IDE/AHCI sata mode, but not sure...will try AHCI when I get back home.
  22. Frank, you're still 3-4 seconds behind. Did you try the BDC tool? You have to set first option to Disable, then hit Apply.
  23. My 24/7 chip is better than this. Have to sell this one and then will try one more, but doubt I'll ever see 8GHz. It just won't happen without massive binning and with these new chips the chance seems even lower.
