  1. i think this feature was in discussion when the X58A-OC was in development, the issue was if you add a real layer of con formal coat over everything, well things overheat.... really think about the possibility of that.... Would be a nice feature tho! But you would still need to insulate everything else. I wonder how that waterproofing will work with multiple cycles of cold and heat? What about discoloration? What about fixing broken stuff? I mean when is the last time you coated your motherboard with insulation and then used it on air 24/7 with the coat and didn't worry?
  2. no deff not formula, but you are getting close, just not with formula. Honestly I need a bigger monitor lol...
  3. Mike Moen and i think Joakim Algstam work for Intel, because I know Mike works for Intel he always does OC class during IDF in the US.
  4. lol yours was funny!
  5. I have a bunch of Mastercard cards, from my debit card to my two credit cards. Some places don't take mastercard, but I think almost all take visa. However I live in the US, and we don't have those microchips that look like SIM cards in our credit cards, I see a lot of people from other countries that do have them tho. Anyways my hotels always took my mastercard for the deposit. That one bar, the Tavern, they take mastercard, was one of the only places that would take my mastercard. Otherwise I think i might just ask for a Visa just for TW lol.
  6. yea they are bad, I don't give them(mostly because i can't really design any cool looking ones lol), but they have their purposes(mainly making vendors happier and readers dumber(which i really hate))
  7. The issue then becomes how to consistently run MP, as the scenes always change and then you have to take the internet connection into consideration.
  8. Yea Ian is right, running benchmarks really is tougher than it seems, especially GPU ones. What I hate most is FRAPs, it really is a pain trying to get consistency and it really is annoying. Especially games like BFBC2 where you have to wait to play a level over and over again is so frustrating, then you hit points in the game where you aren't really playing SP and its a movie with insane FPS. I wish all games had built in benchmarks... What I wish for one day is to be able to write a script to run benchmarks for me, it is such a pain, IMO benchmarks for motherboards take me the longest to do in a mobo review. They are sometimes also the least meaningful thing because a simple BIOS update can toss everything out the window, especially when you are reviewing the board right in its infancy. I have 3 test systems set up and the only reason i need 3 instead of 1 is because of the time it takes to run benchmarks. Its only useful for benchers, and for telling about issues with the board's performance. Most sites have a set of standards they have their reviewers use, I have seen them and many are good, but whether a reviewer actually runs the benchmark more than once or updates the versions of their benchmarks and then re-benches is totally up to the reviewer. So the best way to tell what is what is to compare many sites, especially for GPUs and CPUs where benchmarks are everything.
  9. yea of course, but still impressive for cheap chips.
  10. interesting, i didn't know micron could OC like that
  11. Even benchmark versions, BIOS versions, OS builds, and everything has an impact. Drivers are a huge thing for VGA reviews, so you use the same driver for all reviews until you need a new driver, and if you need to use a new driver then you re bench the whole thing. You guys make so much from the site advertising you better have nothing better to do all freaking day than re bench GPUs. If you don't then well, you are a pitiful disgrace. All review sites should be held to that standard, it isn't something special, its something you should do by default. It is something that should have been thought out before you accepted any sample.
  12. I mean, Micron works fine. But what Micron kits have you seen that do over 2400 cas 11?
  13. Thanks for all your work!
  14. yea i messaged him and he tried slew 1 and was able to do 2400, then he went to cali lol. Slews for memory chips: Hynix: 1 or Auto BBSE: 1 or auto Samsung: 2+ PSC: 2+ Micron: Who cares?
  15. my friends and i back in the day would pay $1 to this guy who would give us 10 motherboards for each dollar, he said they were taken out of older systems, like the ones you have basically, and that some of them worked. He was right, some of them worked, but we wanted to have fun and we were in our early teens(like many of you). So we decided to go buy gasoline, take a big piece of wood and set motherboard on fire, I had a very big backyard and no one could see what we were doing, but we would make motherboard bonfires, and at night it was magical to see the capacitors go boom and make fireworks(god bless electrolytic), then we figured out that the smoke wasn't too good for us. However we found the solution, using 87 octane gas produced black smoke, but using 93 octane produced white smoke, so if you are going to burn motherboards, use the highest octane gas they sell at your gas station. Definitely don't go and get jet fuel or anything, i think that stuff blows up instead of burn.
  16. i don't think its dying, but it is becoming more of a niche type thing.
  17. ahh okay good to know, so it was the OS install?
  18. does the error occur when you boot at stock?
  19. hey i just thought about this, did you set cpu pll overvoltage to enable? You should easily be able to do 2400.
  20. i used 1.86v set, you can try upto 1.9v, just have a fan blowing. Also some my old M5E it would auto raise the VCCSA closer to the VCCIO, maybe try increasing those a tiny bit. The CPU i use hates any VCCIO or VCCSA increases so I never touch them.
  21. Okay just tried the UD4H, same as the HD4: Slew rate there is 5, 1-4 failed, 5 worked well.
