  1. With this news: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?278276-Rest-of-AMD-s-OEM-only-HD-7000-rebrands-detailed Would HWB consider adding the new cards in with the original 5 & 6-series cards? (and the same also for the nVidia equivalent) (yes, even if that means bundling the 9800GT in with the 8800GT for example......) Makes a neat twist on the rule of "post your scores in the category of the original hardware." ..............
  2. I would only need it if I decide the Untouchables is worth using.... and none of the guys getting pre-release samples are showing its benefits properly. No offence to them, but it's true. I'm waiting for "MHz before" and "MHz after." I want to see the BENEFIT of doing all that irreversible work to a cherry GPU Yes, a cherry GPU. Who spends £150 modding an average £30 card, when binning a few more will get you the same MHz in a neat, single, unhacked PCB?
  3. What if there was a weighting attached to whoever was leading the board for the longest time? Start weak, then lose out. Mix the weight of best score at end with most amount of time in the lead. That is unavoidable. No matter what competition requirement you set, there will be someone, somewhere who just happens to have the best kit to fit those requirements and can create a score at the drop of a hat. The best scores will come as people get to grips with the hardware and get "in the zone" Anyway.... the hardware requirements will be announced in advance, right? So people can source kit?
  4. I'd like to see a requirement that each team submits a minimum number of results per week. Sure, everyone will sandbag the best results for the end, but at least there will be SOMETHING to watch. OR..... whichever team is in the lead for highest number of days. Meaning, sandbagging is the worst thing to do. I'd like to see that implemented in a few places, so the biggest names of year x are remembered in some kind of hall of HWB Champions. No point having a "season" because the best scores go up on the last day. Instead, focus on who is at the top either the longest, or the most consistently. (Which is better..... "unbeaten for e.g....45 days", or "was No.1 for 42/45 days") Anyway... that's another thread
  5. +1. The latest GPUs on release day, with release drivers........will not get scores that last. I'm ok with waiting a couple months and waiting for "THE" driver, or for prices to drop or for a 3rd-party PCB design..... or all 3 at once
  6. Skewed, but technically accurate Intel 8GHz WAS done on all cores......
  7. Only with hard mod Will PM you in the morning bro, I think it is time for me to sleep
  8. If it works, it works Is the core A2 or A3? Only A3 is really good for big MHz. If there is too much voltage, then OCP protection will happen faster. These cards really really need the OCP mods to OC well
  9. Thanks guys Sweet... if you need help with mods for the card, send me a PM!
  10. I damaged an A3 96SP, bought two A2 112SP cards that came in a little short because of A2 silicon limits, then bought this on Ebay So..... 4, I guess. Thanks for the comments
  11. I don't think Joe public will understand when they buy the latest GPU that they're really happy with, run some benches on... and try to submit to HWB only to find the scores are in a "no-mans land" for a week/fortnight/month/whatever. Depending on launch day supply (which over the years, has got much much better, so in future will probably continue) then ANYONE can walk into any good store and buy the part, I think it's right they can submit on launch day too, even if it's stock + 10% or whatever The best scores for hardware XYZ, especially GPUs, will be in 2 years time.....
  12. Please can the rules be in the rules section, not two-year-old news posts?
  13. "The NDA ruling states that people can post results for points if the vendor has lifted NDA" Where is this stated?
  14. Sometimes. I don't have as much practice/ experience with G94, but I have seen 4-5 distinct ways for G92 to behave and reducing memory for high core is one of them
  15. Did you ever wonder if part of the problem was competing against the people who had such easy access to A/the hardware early...and had an understanding of it before anyone else and B/in volume, so they could bin for free
  16. Thanks again bro Is it Qimonda 1.0ns memory?
  17. What am I trying to do? Free hardware is not the problem. There are physical items out there that some people were given, have seen stacks of.... and they are things that some people can buy if they have enough money and some people cannot buy no matter how much money they have. lol... "too many contacts to compete in the regular league" that is not possible @ Hiwa & Matose: Thanks for the info
  18. Yes, there should be a way of preventing such events from influencing leaderboards. HWB set up the Pro league....HWB should have clear and comprehensive criteria for inclusion or exclusion? @Honda.... != means "not equal to" ......... Box just means they at least THOUGHT about releasing it eVGA Untouchables. Available in retail? Results submitted with it? What happens?
  19. How did you get the Xpander? Box != retail
  20. "but the launch date and pricing have yet to be confirmed." Based on that statement, no proof of launched in retail.
  21. Foxconn Dreadnought was not ES.... but not released How can a user get one? Do they need company contacts...... yes?
  22. "Not saying but showing" Was there proof? As a general idea, should there be a minimum standard of availability before something is considered "retail" ? Example....Minimum 4 continents, available in shops as well as e-tail, no lead time?
  23. Thanks for the info The card does not look like reference PCB... please can you post a pic of the card you used? Maybe non-reference is the way to avoid coldbug
  24. Is it possible to buy these anywhere? If not... should results that use them be moved to the Pro league? ...same for the eVGA Untouchables results. Product is not in retail........
  25. Some really nice scores Did you bench the card before you used the eVGA power board? If so, what MHz did you hit?
