Fixed.... same happens to me and this edited code MUST be true if we are not being discriminated against

Planet - DDR3 SDRAM @ 1733.8MHz - 1733.8 MHz Memory Clock
K404 replied to Maxi's topic in Result Discussions
I don't have any experience of BD... It looks like a single stick in the pictures, but CPU-Z says dual? Is the picture of the session? Great MHz, no matter how many sticks are present -
Most pages appear to be empty.

If I scrool through rankings and check out....eg.... score 122, when I hit "back", the search result takes me back to results 1-20... same as in old revisions..... it's really annoying!

Is a 3960X Thaat much better than a similary clocked 2600K?
K404 replied to Chi11ed's topic in General hardware discussion
I think you're all overstating the binning process. The ONLY difference is the cache.... liable to faults/ yield problems? A deliberate attempt to give a REAL reason to buy the more expensive chip, given that there's a partially unlocked chip for a lot less money? It's been a long time since there was a spec difference between the top chip and the next one down. Realistically, there will be VERY FEW chips that could not be sold as 3960X if the demand was that high. We all know yield is a large part of final spec. The easier it is to hit XYZ MHz, the higher the yield is. Intel are NOT pushing the silicon anywhere near it's limit. -
no AMD RADEON HD 6770 in autofill

LOL..... if new HSF = new name, we're all f***ed -
For a change, I'd like to see a test that has one scene that progresses & develops. The scene moves around the camera... not the camera moving around the scene

no AMD RADEON HD 6770 in autofill

Oh... and I thought it was called "5770" -
The sauna pic would not look good.... umm...... "blown up" and stuck on the wall

BIG changes so soon after the shakeup I suppose I like that there's some more ephasis on global benching.... but....... Ahhhh.... let's see how it looks after a few months. Can't you just remove ALL the points and see how things work out then?

Photoshopped arms. Kidding Petri! Kidding!

Comparing scores across so many platforms will be hard and maybe not sit well with this request, but if possible.... please can the score algorithm... "make sense"? Simple is good

When are the sniper towers, minefield, guard dogs, barbed wire and sentry box being put in? The best thing about the setup is that if one of you is sent a PM and asked to throw something at the other, it can be done INSTANTLY. This is why it's good to have a team in one location, not spread out

example.... a user can only submit results with the 8600GT if they're in the Enthusiast league. Once a series of hardware has the names released, HWB could pick one or two in advance and say "Enthusiast league only" that way, the decision is impartial. A card isn't picked that OCs like crap or has random behaviour.... sometimes an awesome card will become air/water only.... sometimes a dog of a card will
-
It that idea might work, then cool, but I had a different angle in mind. I wasn't thinking of a piece of hardware that the league MUST bench, I was thinking about certain classes that weren't open to OC and Pro....
-
Why? If there's only a few results in the category....... Because of kinda random categories like the (AMD) 3x CPUs, it's *almost* the same as the hardware ranking. That's not popular, so it only gets a few hardware points. Why should a category with 292 results be worth 60 global points? The PheII 555 only gets 5.8 hardware points I have the Unigine DX9 world record and that category has 626 results.... zero ponts. It's a world record isn't it? (I don't want points added for Unigine DX9, but I hope you see my point)

Ok, there was a debate about WR points for users in the enthusiast league. What IF...... Some CPU and GPU classes were reserved so ONLY people in the enthusiast league (ie....air & water) could submit results? My thought is that enthusiast league is gonna have a lot of folk in it new to OC.... so it would be good if they could have a few classes where the LN guys couldn't take the rankings and the new guys can get a taste of silverware and competition with ONLY scores they can relate to

I honestly don't know. Basing points purely on popularity....... if there were 10,000 results each of 3DM11 single card and 3xCPU wP32M.... are they equally impressive achievements that deserve equal points? Should the least popular global leaderboard be worth 1/3-1/2 of the points of the most popular? Not commenting, just giving ya food for thought EDIT: Matose and me are thinking along the same lines. Quick, everyone take cover!
-
@ RB.... Either too many points for #1 or not enough for #10 Massman and me spoke about this once.... what if the points increase was smoother, but with "bumps" at.... eg.... 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 @PJ.... at the moment, there is a difference. If there is enough of a reason "for the masses" to bench the category then the points gap will close, you know that
-
Personally, I think the exponent is too sharp. I know we've talked about that before, but the global tail off is even worse
-
Well I guess if the unpopular crap gets awarded a lot more points, more people will be motivated to bench and fewer categories will be unpopular. Good for keeping a wide selection of hardware under some form of spotlight, bad (open to interpretation) because again points are the motivator to bench. Points bring binning. Binning starts to undermine the "little guy" I know not everyone feels the same way, that's cool Weirdly, getting a good score with.... e.g.... an AMD tri-core is worth more points because it has a global ranking than it does for being any kind of popular chip
