  1. Lol, they forgot to remove the 's' in their forum logo.
  2. I noticed 2 remarkable original teams registering this week: Xtremesystem. See, no 's' at the end! It's sth entirely different! hwbox.org. The name rings a bell somewhere. Their logo uses different colors. OMFG so original.
  3. As trying to get more hwboints with benching really old hardware, which had little to no competition, is becoming more popular, it's actually getting hard getting in the top 3 of a Pentium 1 processor! Awesome http://www.hwbot.org/compareProcessorResult.do?resultId=592288#result Turrican has the clear lead thanks to his modified socket 7 Vapo.
  4. Congratz Hipro5! OPB will have a hard time getting his trophy back. Aquamark - 262820 marks - hipro5 (HellasOCTeam)
  5. w00t! Let's hope you don't lose 0.10 points today.
  6. 854 in 3Dmark03 is quite an achievement with a AMD K6-3!
  7. I've been gone for 6 weeks and R600 still isn't available yet? Ouch, ATI is getting spanked with the 8xxx series!
  8. Woah, cool!! I just love overclocking old hardware. No risk in losing lots of cash, just plain OC fun. : )
  9. Yeah, i just got a mail from somebody asking why he doesn't receive hwboints. With his E6600 running at a nice 4Ghz, he's 232nd fastest E6600. Just 227 people to pass to get in the top 5 and receive hwboints, good luck buddy! http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=573987
  10. I think mtzki was against uncapped hardware points... and as he is the creator of the hwboint algorithm I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  11. Yes, I was unclear. You do get more points if more ppl have the same hardware item, but the effect is (in my opinion) limited. I would change the hardware weight. At the number of participants is capped at 100 ppl, more does no longer affect the ranking anymore, which makes the hwpoints fall in the range of 2 - 0.4 (5 ppl) to 10 - 2 (100ppl or more). I feel that 10 (1st) - 2 (5th) points is too few when you look at a popular hw item hundreds of people use. Capping it at 200ppl (20 - 4) and increasing it to the top 10 instead of top 5 looks like a better reward for those who can't afford expensive hardware, but can overclock really well.
  12. Hmmm, both have a good point. I like the idea of bonus hwboints to top teams, but you're right that it would just separate them from the sub-top3 teams even more, making competition less interesting. What I really, really would like to see in the hwboint algorithm is more points for ppl who have a top 10 score with a very popular hardware item. eg. for an uber overclocked 7900GT ranked 5th out of 500 cards, you get like 1point. : (
  13. I don't think it's a bad idea, these 'bonus' points. Like you said, a team who manages to get the top team average deserves some additional points. I wouldn't give bonus points to the team on the 2nd or 3rd place though, than the rules would get to complicated for those who want to know how points are awarded. Just sth like 1st place in team average ranking = +50 hwboints for the team.
  14. Server troubles this night, right when the images where generated. A new sigs are scheduled to be generated in 15 minutes. http://www.hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=387
  15. Whoah Thrasher2, seems like you got some serious competition! To use the XXL version, change "http://www.hwbot.org/signature.img?t=1&uid=6316&iehack=.png" into "http://www.hwbot.org/signature.img?t=8&uid=6316&iehack=.png" in your signature code.

    Cars

I don't get how American adolescents can afford such cards. Don't you have to pay an insane amount in insurance & taxes? You made me jealous alright. My car: Audi A3 105pk TDI
  17. lol, when it becomes too small, you may use the THRASHER2 XXL edition:
  18. lol @ thrasher2 http://twistedforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12637&highlight=hwbot Hwbot fever strikes again.
  19. I think the upload was flawed. Tried it at home, campus connection: 0.33mb/s up, 0.33mb/s down. Great upload speed.
  20. Fun stuff, here's a run from at work: Click the image to run the test.
  21. Madshrimps always have great pictorials. Imagine C2D processors wouldn't have a heatspreader. It would be a pain to install / more around.
