  1. Doesn't matter whether they're validated or not, points count both ways. Congrats SF3D!!!!
  2. Here's a fine example: http://www.hwbot.org/hardware.processor.statistics.do Very interesting chart, but as good as all the time screwed up by bad results.
  3. difficult and a HUGE page. The underlying html file would contain up to 10k compareurls. Maybe a feat for paying members.
  4. You can clearly see people like rounded numbers. 1000 and 1100mhz are the most popular memory speed. 666mhz gpu core speed is clearly very popular too.
  5. I love charts, and technically they're pretty easy to implement. The hard part is picking out 'good' samples. As hwbot receives 300 to 500 submissions a day, the result moderators barely have time whether essential info is correct (correct score, correct cpu/gpu and has validation), so there are quite a lot of scores which have wrongly matched cpu/gpu speeds. There are multiple ways to solve this: more mods, better tools to detect these faulty scores for mods, or better algorithms for charts which detect bad results. We're working on the latter 2. For example, we just made the 'overclockability' chart better for videocards: http://www.hwbot.org/quickSearch.do?hardwareId=GPU_337&name=Radeon+9800+Pro+%28498%29 (scroll down a bit). It will take some time before we are confident we can add more charts. Better 1 good chart than 10 poor ones.
  6. Er no, it has nothing to do whether hardware is old or not. Only the amount of competition counts. Eg. a good 9800Pro score will get you more points that a good Radeon 2400XT score.
  7. We don't have that many different fastfood chains here in Belgium, but this was an fun read nonetheless. : ) I completely agree about KFC. Me and the misses ate their once on our trip to Australia, it's frigging disgusting! Source: http://www.thewvsr.com/fastfood.htm
  8. Hi cdawall, your Ti4200 score gets few points not because it's old hardware, but because you've got little competition in the Ti4200 league. The more people that submit Ti4200 scores, the more your second place will be worth.
  9. I think that piece of copper alone can absorb enough heat to keep your videocard from overheating.
  10. Lots of respect for taking this stand, ocztony. If all teams where like you guys whe wouldn't need a moderation queue.
  11. Hey Ryder, I follow you completely, but it's just too hard to draw the line in real life. ATI and Nvidia cards differ (slightly) in image quality, so you could say it's a moot point comparing between brands.
  12. No extreme PSU's heh? I guess you only need +500W if you bench heavy SLI systems.
  13. Yeah the line between cheating and tweaking is very thin sometimes. Changing LOD is (afaik) undedectable by 3Dbenchapps, so there's little point in prohibiting it.
  14. I saw this monster, and I wonder whether anyone really uses these kind of insane power supplies. Me, I still use a 360W Enermax PSU. It's more than sufficient to power a Core 2 @2.7Ghz, 2GB ram, a 7300GT and 5 HDD's.
  15. I only know how to tweak 3Dmark01, so... Guess I'm an oldtimer.
  16. Thanks JL, I've checked the code and we didn't check whether the user is logged in or not. You need to be logged in in order to report results.
  17. hwbot v2, has a better follow-up on why scores where modified / reported / blocked. Click the history icon to see what happened with the result in the past. Also, the owner now gets notified when someone reports his results or when a mod modifies his score. I understand your frustration, but we can't show actions that have happened before the release of v2.
  18. Ok, it's probably because of this reason: http://www.hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=646
  19. Hmm, i'm not a mod but my guess is the screenshot hides the resolution the test has been run at, and there's no fm link to verify the resolution. We get a lot of 3d06 submissions run at <1280x1024.
  20. Please help our mods by pointing out the software ramdisk results. Thank you. (btw, in contrary to FM, we do allow iRam results, but not soft ramdisks) http://www.hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=265&highlight=ramdisk&page=2
  21. log in > options > account > team settings > no team ; )
  22. Sorry K404, we use the official ISO 3316 country list code. If I start making exceptions it's going to be a mess in the end. What do you mean with member countries of the Netherlands?
