GIGABYTE Radeon 7970 TO Rev1.0 (GV-R797TO-3GD) mod guide
Massman replied to Massman's topic in AMD GPU Overclocking
The tool is to advanced to be public. It can change VRM frequency (too high = fire) and 1.9V Vgpu and 2.0V Vmem. If you remove the resistor and then find pin for Vsen, you can just use a VR to control the voltage to any level. BIOS takes care of OCP and all that stuff. -
Just found this forwarded to my email. Figured I could share. Card: GIGABYTE GV-R797TO-3GD Guide 1) For LN2 GPU, you need to use blade to pop up the shim like picture says. 2) Remove the resistor for unlock the voltage limitation including vGPU and vGDDR 3) Please the atiflash to upgrade a new OC bios which name "R797TO3D_OC" Bios download: http://downloads.HWBOT.org/downloads/VGABIOS/R797TO3D_OC Improved OC in BIOS a. Force PCIe to Gen2 mode to make compatible with BCLK overclocking and -120C temp issue b. Disable UVP, UTP, OVP, OTP and OV c. Disable Sleep mode when CFX d. Unlock frequency limitation to 2000/2200 in C.C.C e. VGPU tested 1.80V, VGDDR test 2.0V 4a) Use the OV tool to adjust VRM and voltages., double click R797TO.exe to open the tool. (tool[/url] not public) 4b) Download CHL8228 datasheet, find VSEN pin and use VR to overclock. Good luck!

Don't know what you are talking about, Loud!

I still stand by what I said 20 monts ago: http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22813

Hm, imho that looks like an incorrect BIOS setting prior to OS install. - IDE or AHCI ? - CSM support enabled ? - XHCI/EHCI Hand-off enabled ?

... save your good BBSE/PSC for next year. Just saying.

New Hynix EFR (2x nm) not good for OC (max 2133C11)
Massman replied to Massman's topic in Memory Heaven (air/extreme)
Forgot to reply - no, don't have any news on the Samsung 2x nm chips. Too busy listening to the rumours of AMD releasing new cards in January. Oops ... . -
DX10/DX11 LOD control in Nvidia 310.xx driver
Massman replied to Massman's topic in General overclocking
Seems like it's only working in single card dx10 at the moment. DX11 is the same, quad is lower. Maybe wait for another driver ... -

Does it work with other memory than Hyper ?

DX10/DX11 LOD control in Nvidia 310.xx driver
Massman replied to Massman's topic in General overclocking
With GTX660: ~ 5.7% in 3DMark Vantage (especially rocking GT2) ~ 0.8% in 3DMark11 (LOD applied, but no effect) -
DX10/DX11 LOD control in Nvidia 310.xx driver

LOD 15 -
So, now you can set LOD level with the latest Nvidia 310.xx drivers. - enable Sparse Grid Supersampling - set lod - higher 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark11 scores (~ 6% in Vantage it seems) Feel free to give feedback on performance gain - pretty interested in seeing how much you can gain from it . Have fun!

What board are you using?

Ah, good info, thanks! Just updated the CPU database with all the correct sockets. Flushing caches right now - the competition should be updated too (if everything goes well). -

There seems to be some database issues then. There are no "AM2+" CPUs, only AM3 (indicating the CPU supports DDR3). AM2+ is used to indicate that the mainboard supports AM2 and AM3 CPUs. -

No need for different boards - all you need are different CPUs. You are allowed to say thanks to AMD's upgrade-path and use AM2+ boards for an AM2, AM2+, AM3 and AM3+ CPU if you can . So much complaining. Everything besides the 320 and 530 is dead-easy ... :battle: Only desktop version is allowed Differentiation by CPU model, not core. X4 940 is AM2+, yes AM3+ is different from AM3 which is different from AM2+ which is different from AM2 which is different from AM . Does that make sense? Trinity and AMD CPUs? -

bounty: fix the god damn rule pages!
Massman replied to I.M.O.G.'s topic in HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions
Fyi, I've moved the updated rules to the public pages. 1) pretty much all benchmark rules should be up-to-date: http://hwbot.org/benchmarks 2) the general rules should also be up-to-dat, but some segments need more updating: http://www.taiwannights.com/images/uploads/photos/800-456--254-5734d.jpg To do: 1) add the missing rules pages (would've done it today, but couldn't access the database to look up application id's) 2) improve clarity of the general rules with tabbed page -> coding for that will be scheduled for the HWBOT Rev5 release 3) backend for judiciary system -> rev5 -

ES not allowed (like in any of the competitions). Socket is determined by the CPU. Bulldozer is AM3+, Thuban is AM3, Phenom I is AM2+ etc
