Massman
Instead of all moving to Gigabyte we should push Asus to make a proper bios Sadly enough, it's sometimes necessary to highlight the capabilities of a competitor's product in order to get them working on a specific issue . MTP04
Sadly enough, it's sometimes necessary to highlight the capabilities of a competitor's product in order to get them working on a specific issue . Had to buy a Gigabyte to see it for myself...I hope Asus is working on a 32bit fix. Crew stummerwinter Posted January 31, 2011 Crew Share Posted January 31, 2011 Ok, here we go, same driver, same LOD-settings, same run order: @WXP 32bit with 0951: @WXP 64bit with 0089: Funny enough, details can be shown normally...
Massman
Funny enough, details can be shown normally... Yes, that was already confirmed. Thanks for testing the CH. Seems like a similar boost I saw going from 0801 to 0681 ~ a couple dozen FPS, but still significantly lower than GBT boards.
Crew stummerwinter Posted February 2, 2011 Crew Share Posted February 2, 2011 Yes, tested also the new implemented memory boost function in BIOS, was slower with enabled (32M and 3D01), only in BIOS 0950 ist was faster in 32M, but much more unstable... SoF
just had a guess here: the mem remapping feature ppl talk about - might that be also the key to the problem some boards loose in 01 against jeeehhgaballs?
tiborrr
I'd like to point out that Intel DP67BG has fantastic 01 performance. I did not had much luck with Giga UD3 yet Tempted to get another DP67BG after Moonman and I fried one last saturday. The only downside is 1MHz BCLK increment. Massman
Oh, you have comparisons? I saw Kingpin's scores on the Evga board and on first sight they looked quite alright as well.

It's the best bios i ever used for 3d01
I.nfraR.ed
Any way to downgrade from 0902 to 0498 bios version of Maximus IV Gene-Z? Not sure how the latest version compares to the old 3D bioses, especially for 3DMark01. Tried ez flash, asus update windows app and bupdate under dos, no luck. Is there a need to flash back to older bios? Edit: Found the solution - AFUWIN/AFUDOS for Aptio bioses worked fine, then reflashed from the EZ Flash utility just in case. Still have a problem with bclk, I'm stuck at 100. It doesn't change, even though it's set manually in bios.
