TaPaKaH
What is this? An oldschool OC thread with someone living through their first LN2 experience. Awesome! By the way, 1366 chips don't like even multis (odd ones work better) and single channel might give you a lower coldbug compared to triple.

techjesse
WoW... could not get passed 5.5ghz code 55 or 00 turbo V freeze screen spelt Ln2 all over worst ln2 session ever. Maybe bad mount? Edited November 30, 2018 by techjesse add pics
Guest
@techjesse From what I heard the 4 corners of the socket are very slightly raised above the socket, which can run direct die mounting. You have to cut/shave them down.

techjesse
Thank for the tip ? I found this... not a good mount, the TIM should be pushed out more I have to let everything dry before I give it another shot....
techjesse
Trim Here? Cut/shave down the corners? They look taller then the die. I missed that....I'll be ready next time.
techjesse
The corners are taller the the die. Wow, I'll trim them....again Thanks
Guest
@techjesse Exactly that. I saw someone mention it in a review of the direct die guard.

Thanks Chris, I'm getting everything done, had to wait a few days for the mobo to dry out (help it with heatgun) and had some help to mod the socket as I shake so much. Upon reboot everything fired right up made my day. I'm ready for Ln2 but waiting for the official background for Country Cup I've tested every BIOS for this board and it is real picky on the ram.... but I run it up...lol
