It should works without any problems. After it you can try main bios Chip, but I’m not sure if it will works better. how is the position of your bios switches? Have you selected single bios or dual bios? Yes, I am not sure either if that will work. Just thinking about and trying solutions. Yes, running dual bios. Had g7400 ran on the other one and profiles. Will give this a go now. Thanks for you help, Gents! Will let you know if it works or not. Quote
spit051261 Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) Can you try a 12100 ? Worked for me . Not had chance to try KS or any other chip. Edited October 30, 2022 by spit051261 Quote

I got it working. Not sure what actually did the trick. I switched the biosses a couple of times, flashed known good bios on them and then just flashed the x4b in the bios. I am able to alter settings now. Tried a known faulty setting so I had to re-enter the bios again and it worked. No screens freezing. Used limp button as wel. Works. It beats me but I ain't complaining (yet) Finally able to do some tuning. Already able to boot higher mem frequency with my mediocre mem kit. Much abliged for the suggestions and thinking with me to overcome the obstacle. ? Edited October 30, 2022 by 5erveD Quote
spit051261 Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) Just tried KS and I am unable to boot into BIOS on x4b. Gives me the BIOS option option and then goes blank after selecting BIOS. Goes into OS fine but not BIOS. 12100 goes into BIOS and OS fine . Could try a few other 12th gen chips I suppose. Weird eh ? Must be doing something wrong ? sergmann Posted October 30, 2022 Author Posted October 30, 2022 KS wasn’t important for me because 13gen can do higher clocks and Mem frequency, this is why I don’t tested it before. Only 12gen with AVX512, this is why I’ve changed microcode in Bios and replaced one of them. Quote
Matt26LFC Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) Any got a 7970 to work on the Z690 tachyon? I can't get mine to work Also got a GTX 590 on the way, hopefully can get that going! Edited October 30, 2022 by Matt26LFC Quote

sergmann Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 @BOBKOC have you tested this GPU with older X-Bios versions? Does it work? Have you load defaults before you have changed GPU and removed power from Board? I can`t test this GPU becaus I don`t have it. If you still with 12th gen CPU and GPU works with older bios versions, I would stay with it ;). I should have one 7970 GPU here, can try it also with my Z690 board. Quote

NorySS Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) So i'm on a 13900K and X4b bios. And I'm getting great results with a-die ocing. but for some reason, if i enter cpu VDD / cpu VDDq, i cannot get it to boot with manual voltage settings. but If i leave it on auto, i've gotten the board to boot up to 8266. Auto voltages are being reported as CPU_VDD 1.45v , CPU_VDDQ 1.40v in hwinfo. IF i try to key in those same values, or a little higher, it fails to train. what am I missing guys? got this sweet score in the mean time. https://hwbot.org/submission/5109747_noryss_y_cruncher___pi_1b_core_i9_13900k_16sec_583ms Edited October 31, 2022 by NorySS forgot to add file Quote

sergmann Posted November 1, 2022 Author Posted November 1, 2022 For new CPU’s set SA to 1.25v, more isn’t necessary. DRAM VDD settings are the best for me at the moment 1.25/1.40 for a-die and m-die Quote
