Here at HWBOT we try our best to deliver a fair and enjoyable playing field for all those who participate in the rankings and competition. To be able to provide this kind of service we have tried to design some submission and general rules to help remove any doubts about whether something is allowed or not. Based on continued experience these rules will be updated, expanded and completed as time goes by. Please check back for any updates.

The HWBOT Country Cup 2024 allows only single CPU socket retail motherboards and single GPU retail Videocard submissions (unless specifically stated otherwise).

No Laptop or other mobile devices, desktop non server hardware only (unless specified)

Intel Arrow Lake processors and AMD 9800X3D not allowed

Please ensure that the verification screenshot includes the competition background, on top of the standard HWBOT rules, a CPU-Z Motherboard tab is required

Plz check out the Standard and specific Country Cup 2024 Rules laid down per stage before submitting. If in doubt contact a moderator

  • General HWBOT rules apply + Motherboard tab

A minor issue.
For new members mostly.

Can somebody fix the link in the competition page that point to General HWBOT rules.
At the moment it points to a blank page.

Of course there is a working link at the right side of the page and also at the bottom of the page ... but lets make things easier.

It's a simple change in links

Or am I dud? Hahah

I'm looking at GB5 SC stage to be exact. Thanks!

All but CB 2024 GPU family (4 scores)  is 3 scores required

Now with the new GUI , any option to add under DETAILS of each stage , the number of scores required ?

GPU

.....

Stage6: 3DMark Steel Nomad Vulkan - nVIDIA - GPU Family

Where exactly does it say , that we have to use different GEN vga's in that stage ?

The improvement (not saying perfection) in detailed description of each stage for such a big event (which is in progress)  , should have been your No1 priority.

Every year , in almost all events we deal with the same problems.

No proper definitions
Unclear rules in some parts.

This has to change.

I dont know if there still is limitation in characters used in description fields ... but we have to improve it.

New GUI

Well the best trainers and players are usually at the sideline of each football game or watching in their lazy couch or in a sportsbar

Thus no difference at HWBOT

Classics:

 - usually zero involvement when setting up a compo
 - close to no inputs just before any compo starts on ruling
 - once more a reminder that it is impossible to have 100% clear rules unless you keep the competition format basic like the push the hardware series
loophoples therefore are nearly impossible to avoid
 - sometimes a small effort to look at other subs reveals probably the solution to 95% of the raised remarks
 - almost everything you talk about is defined by me in the admin setup page, now if it isn't displayed that's another thing where we have to learn from

Did I wanted to push the new GUI in November?  nope, it was not ready, testing on UAT was pretty time consuming (not so responsive) and very limited as we could not do any subs or setup comps on it. So the best way is the hard way  and do the debugging live, preference for me was in January after Country Cup.

Do we work hard to get it all fixed, yep, lots of progres has been done already and the eo sports page is no more.

How many people are effectively doing the bug fixing/ GUI improvements you all require? : just guess

Thanks to all that pot errors and report them

Forget that it's me who made this post (cause i know how things work in here) and put yourself into the position of a new member or an old member that was absent for a long period.

Log-in to the competition page , navigate through stages ... and tell me how clear things are in total and how easy it is for such a user to pick hardware and participate ?

I didn't make this post , to point a finger at you.
I am posting complaints from my members

I want from people above you to realize and deal with the problems we face.

It's not possible to deal with everything in this site , with only 2-3 people involving.
Alby if you need help , you have to ask for it.

Once upon a time , team captains of the major teams , had a private small sub-forum , where they could talk to "hwbot" and talk to each other also.
That's missing nowadays.

There's another thing that I think was there in the early rules, at least in the old GUI - picture requirement. We had this requirement by default for all competitions, and I don't see it after the update. There are at least a few submits without rig photo and it would be a bummer for those guys if their hard work went down the drain.
