PCMark05: Pixel Shader test?

Featured Replies

Hey :) When using ATI cards (5870) in PCM05, 3200-3600FPS is easy enough in the Pixel Shader test....

Whats the tweak that gets the score to 4200- 4600FPS?

Thanks :)

Hey Crusty :) LOD got me a few FPS, nothing close to 1000 :P

I'm usually running PCI-E @ 107++ so I don't *think* so :)

I'm not getting any scaling from CPU.

Thanks for all the ideas but I don't think you guys are quite reading this right.

Most guys are getting ~3200-3600FPS in the Pixel Shader test with an overclocked ATI card. A few are getting 4400- 4600FPS. Some people know something the majority do not.

Not all of those use the same O.S. or drivers.

Hey K404, you mean to tell me that you haven't figured out this tweak:

Well I haven't either

My bet is on drive letters ;)

Ironically, Pro has "normal" Pixel Shader results!

(which adds to the question)

  • Crew

powertoy doesnt impact pixel shader..

i dunno i think its not a problem right, maybe these guys just know something the rest of us dont..

i notice most of these are sandy except for the 8600, has anyone tested if sandy is just faster at pixel shader than x58? i dunno i will play pixel shader later this week..

lod+graphicks driver tweaking

LOD and ATIsetup gives me 7-800 points at pixel shader. I'm still under 3000. What have I done of wrong ?

lod+graphicks driver tweaking

CCC mipmap setting is the 'driver tweak' that increases pixel shader. :(

Combine that with 2d clocks and I've seen it hit 4k+ but never used it in my crap scores.

Mip? Uh-oh :(

Is there a legal way to get the same boost?

Not as far as I know, if there is then I'm sure the guys who can get 4k+ legal will share.

Tried d3doverrider ??? Lod what value ? Try around 15.00 .

Hi steve !

I can't use rivatuner on my 6850.

I set my lod to 30.. is it wrong ?

I use Afterburner to set 2d clock and I use ati tray tool or CCC to set up my " driver settings "

You don't have to use rivatuner .

Just check at the installed folder > Program files > Rivatuner > Tools > d3doverrider .

Run the d3doverrider and select the following options : High , On , Off.

For the LOD , you have to use setlod application . Its here :http://ftpbackup.mojostech.net/download/Benchmark%20Tweaks/SetLODb6/SetLODb6.zip

With high clocks , 5000 is percfectly legit .
