Some of my colleagues request 169.21 modded inf for 3DM2001. Today added suport for 9800gt also.

 

Tested by me on 9800gt/9800gtx/9800gtx+ and gts250. Just go via update driver, don't search, i will choose ..., have disk and select proper inf, as shown in the screens.

I can confirm this works and once the inf is in place, installing a new card will see it detect and update the driver without any messing around

Does SLi work with this INF?

Don't think so. The driver is still the same and detects SLI compatibility the same way

SLI doesn't work with this INF, tested it.

SLI Available but option to enable it is not there.

what if you use my "force detection" method ?

Added 9600GSO 173.67 inf for 3DM2001, tested ok.

Thread necro! I have tried 173.67 but it will not create an nVidia folder for me to replace the .inf. Does it have to be installed using a 9800GX2 to start with?

 

(for people reading, 173.67 is by default, a GX2-only driver)

 

 

EDIT: Might have 9600GSO working with 169.21 Back in 5 after a 3DMark run (if it works)

I personally use 7zip to extract content from the file (which is in fact a self extracting archive). Winrar should also work.

Then modify the inf for the card I'm going to use it with or you can use a pre-modified inf.

Then install.
