Massman Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 There's no marketing benefit of claiming to be able to run 2400. That's the basic functionality. Or am I missing something? Quote
TaPaKaH Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Intel guarantees 1333 (or so), anything above is 'not guaranteed by Intel' or, in other words, partners' marketing jobbie. Quote
IanCutress Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Intel guarantees 1333 (or so), anything above is 'not guaranteed by Intel' or, in other words, partners' marketing jobbie. X79/SBE is quad-channel 1600 supported, SB is dual-channel 1333. But you're right, anything above that is up to the manufacturer to support, used in marketing, etc Quote
sin0822 Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 IMo 2400mhz shouldn't be limited or counted out, there are a lot of boards that say 2400 but can't do it easily. . Quote

Spyboy48 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 ASRock tell me the Extreme9 is only rated to 2400 in dual channel. I got 2133 to work in quad with a set of GSkills. Just as I finish writing about the board on the 30 BIOS. Lovely. 2133Mhz at cold start, always corrupted...and moreover need higher Vdimm 1.725V to run Quad at 9-11-10-30-214-1T....so not pretty to run daily. Quote

ME4ME Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Will try it soon. Nice to see MSI finally focus on software/bios too. Haven't got the board yet, but version "1.5-beta1" sounds alot more stable than version "0.1-beta-0,15" which has been trend for years Quote

I think that this mobo doesn't need the trick of pll override. I can run directly 5ghz. ( 6core ). http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2233544 Quote
