July 18, 201311 yr Hi having an issue with Z87 OCF if i clear CMOS with cpu temps under 5c and reboot i get a CPU led error and cant boot using LN2 switch or cold slow switch. After heating up the cpu again i can go into bios and set LN2 pre-test and cool cpu to -66c "dry-ice" and reboot just fine. I'm changing back and forth from stock bios and F1.51B also tried using clear CMOS jumper and remove battery. I dont know what else to do, i have done the above steps 3 times to confirm the issue was consistent... When i was using another board i didnt have any CB issues with the same CPU.
July 19, 201311 yr Author Looks like ur bios rom is not working properly . Can u flash the latest bios and flash ME also ? U dont have to use any LN2 switch and slow modo . try it again thanks
July 19, 201311 yr Okay i will try that Nick Thanks for speedy reply Edited July 19, 201311 yr by Threedhero

August 1, 201311 yr Author chieftec 850DF looks like that is power supply compatibility issue. let me see if i can find the same one .
August 1, 201311 yr looks like that is power supply compatibility issue. nope. software issue. fresh OS install - no signs of problem. sad, with ASUS & Gigabyte mobos this OS setup works good. reinstall infOS, MEI, RST, ATi drv changes nothing. what was the cause of the problem?
August 1, 201311 yr it's hard to say,i encountered the same, funny thing only with w7 x64,maybe something to do with intel mei?
August 2, 201311 yr resolved. uninstall ATi video driver, clean with DRIVER CLEANER.NET & Driver Sweeper. reset & power off now ok.
August 11, 201311 yr When I go to Instant Flash, what should happen? The program finds the BIOS file.....then nothing else happens. Cursor doesn't freeze, but I can only get away from the screen by restarting. I've tried BIOS chips A and B and different BIOS. I've been having a lot of USB problems. Christian suggested reflashing the BIOS (fair enough) but....I can't!
August 12, 201311 yr hey i got the OCF-M, i cant boot with the memory divider at 3000 MHz, i can boot in 3080 MHz with the divider at 2933, and push the bclk up. is it the memory, cpu, or can it be fixed in a bios update ? i used Samsung chip it's a very nice board to bench on, very stable on cold, i have only tested it on SS'er and dice, looking forward to do some ln2 on it
August 12, 201311 yr hey,2933 divider is max on 100 strap,for higher memory freq u can user 125,167 strap+bclk
August 12, 201311 yr hey,2933 divider is max on 100 strap, for higher memory freq u can user 125,167 strap+bclk ok, thanks
August 13, 201311 yr When I go to Instant Flash, what should happen? The program finds the BIOS file.....then nothing else happens. Hi K404-san, click the BIOS NAME highlighted. That should solve your problem, I think I had the same trouble as many as 10 times, haha
August 13, 201311 yr Hello Gyrock-san Thankyou for posting! I clicked on the filename, it does not highlight and nothing happens, but I will try again! My situation in BIOS "feels" very similar to a crash in windows When the search stops on a BIOS file, can I click on it straight away? I have 4 BIOS on my USB pen, when the search is finished, should it give me a list of options?
August 13, 201311 yr Hi K404-san, I just tried the Instant flash and it succeeded. What I did was the same as I mentioned. - After the search finished, the dialog box comes up - it has three areas, up on "BIOS name" and "Configuration" and "Search Device" downwards - just click the " BIOS name" - then, flashing starts If you can't use Instant Flash, then use FPT.exe on DOS. c:\fpt -f "BIOS name" Good luck!
August 17, 201311 yr K404 use only fat or fat32 formatted usb drive. and Instant Flash always fail to find bios if on drive too much files.
August 25, 201311 yr Was playing with my Z87M OC Formula tonight and my -100°C cascade. Could run Pi1M @ 6050MHz, valid up to 6.15GHz. Hell I can do Wprime at 5.8GHz+, all at 1.73V but for the love of god I couldn't get any of my PSC (5 different sticks) to run over ~ DDR3-2000 (8-12-8-28, 1.84V). Tried my old BBSE (3 sticks) that can do 2400 9-12-9-25 @ 1.8V on Ivy but no post over XMP profile (2000 9-9-9-24 1.65V). The PSC can easily do 2600 8-12-8-31 without even pushing. The most common syndrome is for system to hang at POST code 40, tries another cycle, hangs at 40 again, shuts down, boots to stock memory clock (overclocking failed, BCLK overclock remains). VCCIN up to 2.35V Vcore up to 1.75V VCSAA up to +0.2V VCPUIO-A up to +0.15V VCPUIO-D up to +0.15V VMEM up to 1.9V I haven't been seriously overclocking since Ivy Bridge but I want to get this system ready for LN2 run. Tried BIOS 1.42 first then upgraded to 1.5, same issues. Black slots or yellow slots, doesn't matter (well, MFR worked better in black ones). Manual profiles or hand written presets - doesn't matter. For some reasons the board doesn't want to set multiplier (even 4.0GHz overclock fails) until i select NickShih 5.8G profile and edit it manually. Anyone else has such problems? I'm feeling like I am about to give up on this pretty little board, just today I spent 10 hours trying different settings and blewing 7 kilowatt hours of electricity. I don't remember having such a bad time overclocking since the Gigabyte P67 days and the Sandy Bridge.
