Hi, this is the first time there. Starting with that I have a Pc build with: I5 6400, Rx480 4gb, 12gb ram, Z170 Asrock Fatal1ty K4, Silentstorm Icewind 630w, SSD and HDD. I have a custom BIOS to overclock my i5 6400 to 4.3ghz using BCLK. I want to get an i5 9600k (and overclock it), I already know riskes of vrm etc..but I really want to get a 9th intel working on my z170. I saw a video thst shows how to do phisically, but i am confused, do i have to solder pins and other? How I make a custom bios to avoid cores limits of z170 and other? Please help me, really appreciate. Is this guide working? https://forum.toms hw.it/thre ads/guida-cpu-coffe…

Hi Everyone, I tried to perform a BCLK OC on my ASUS Z170-K @ i5 6600 non-K by following steps proposed on overclocking guide for ASUS Z170-K (with little adjustments): – Set Boot Performance Mode to Turbo Performance – Set Intel® SpeedStep to Disabled – Set CPU C states to Disabled – Set CPU Loadline Calibration to Level 7 – Set Ai Overclock Tuner to Manual – Change the BCLK Frequency to 122 (approx : 4.4 GHz OC) – Adjust the DRAM Frequency to a value around 2100 MHz Set the CPU Core Voltage Override to 1.35 But when I save the settings and reboot, nothing happens. when rebooting again, a "FAIL…

Hello All, I posted a message previously but I'm not sure it appeared on forum. I Tuned my BCLK to 113MHz on ASUS Z170-K @ I5 6600 non-K, and I was expecting to boost my CPU from 3.3GHz to 4.4GHz. But in fact I get a 3.7 GHz CPU since my CPU multiplier is locked to X33 (my CPU ratio is supposed to go up to X39). Even if I allowed the Ratio to X39 in BIOS when I launch an OCCT test, my max CPU is @ 3.7GHz I'm not sure to understand what is wrong and if someone could explain to me how to unlock my CPU ratio to X39 it would be great My build is: - ASUS Z170-K - i5 6600e @ 3.3GHz - 2 X 8 Go GSKILL @ 2133 MHz - GPU = GTX 970 - Win 7 integral ed…

I found posts with motherboard/bios updates for several manufacturers that support/enable non K skylake chip overclocking, my laptop is a Eluktronics P670RP6 (a rebranding of a clevo P670RP6) with a core i7 6700HQ and a GTX 1060. Does anyone have any tips or info to provide in how I would go about enabling BCLK settings or non K overclocking of this processor in my laptop? I'm familiar with software overclocking and some bios overclocking in the past once I get the settings enabled but not sure how to go about that. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hello! I have been using this setup for a while now on base speeds and thought I'd go for the overclocking part today. This is the setup. i3-6100 msi z170a gaming pro carbon g.skill ripjaws V ddr4 2x8gb 3200mhz geforce gtx 960 Following the updated guide for msi boards, I got a message saying overclocking failed and all settings reverted to default. I tried googling around for a bit, tried resetting the settings by removing battery and changing the values after that (bclk, core voltage, ram speed) a bit. It seems that increasing the bclk value won't work at all. After exiting bios and saving the settings my pc starts, and after a while I hear a small noi…

Hello, I want to buy MSI 170A TOMAHAWK AC to overclock my i5-6400. I want to ask you is it still possible to do that on old bios ? Ive heard that someone had problem with overclcoking non-K intel cpu, even on older bios, is there anyone who is running or tried non-k oc on that board ? And i would like to ask you, is there a bios difference between MSI Z170A Tomahawk AC and Tomahawk ? They are completly the same boards, just AC have added wifi. Thanks !

Hello guys! Today I found this guide from Der8auer (Link) where he explained how to overclock an locked (non-k) CPU. So I downgraded by BIOS, installed the required BIOS for the overclock and everything worked perfectly normal. The next thing I wanted to do was applying a overclock to get a total of 4.5 GHZ with a voltage of 1.325v. After I rebooted into my installation of windows 10 I first checked the CPU temperatures with HWinfo32. Till now there have been no problems, so I started Prime95 and tested the stability for about two hours. Everything worked perfectly fine but after I closed Prime95 I got an bsod (Clock_Watchdog_Timeout). So I tried to gi…

overclk - Album on Imgur I've managed to overclock my 6700T, but I was thinking if 1.42v is too much voltage for a 4.4GHz overclock. and stress-testing, it drops to 1.36 (in cpu-z). If I raise the clock more, I get blue screens (clock watchdog). My question is, is it safe for 24/7 use?
