General overclocking

ok. specs i have a QX9650 EVGA 680i SLI 2x 8800 GTX 850W silverstone strider PSU 5x 250gb 16mbcache maxtors in raid 0 water cooled. ok, i carnt seem to get it stable enough to bench 3dmark 05 or 06 at 4500mhz, but can bench everything else at this speed including Wprime 1024m. the max ive had out of it sofar is 4.85ghz http://valid.x86-secret.com:80/show_oc.php?id=280447 and have managed to bench at 4.7ghz see atachment (better pic) so basically i would like some advice on getting it to bench 05 and 06 at higher speeds, as at present the highest ive managed is 4400mhz, which is a bit apaling for this chips ability. thanx in advanced

Hey everyone, am new to Overclocking so am here to find out how to do it. I would like to OC my Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0Ghz to at least 3.6 and 4.0 max Everytime i use ntune nothing works. What would i all need to do this? Does anyone know if the COOLER MASTER GeminII is any good? Also does anyone know a good Blue led 120mm fan to use with it? Sorry such a big post, Please bear with me. Lots of info to get out in a post. Well I need some assistance getting my E6400 to get over this 2.8Ghz hump. I have tried everything I can think of and it won't budge. So I tried taking two 1gb sticks out, to hopefully get rid of the "four 1GB sticks don't overclock" like two 1GB Sticks thinking just to be sure. So with 2 gb's I posted 360*8=2.88Ghz and ran Orthos "Blend" test for 1 hour and things were fine. I had V.Core at a modest 1.3 Volts. Ram was at 2.0 volts, Running at 5,6,6,18 timings. I also disabled the "Speed Step", and the other power saving options. I locked the PCI at 101(is this too low of a setting?), And the p…

do you use lod tweeks while benching or not? and which benches?

I have an E6750 prosessor, but on the standard cooling i can't even get it to boot over 3200MHz. It runs smooth and cool at 3150MHz but totaly stops at 3200. I have tried to upp the voltage, but it didnt help (and shouldnt be necessary at this speed). The ram is not clocked upp, so that shouldnt be a problem. And as said, the temp is still low. I'm thinking that the problem could have to do with my motherboard, Xfx 650i Ultra, but i dont see why. Any ideas?

Hello I was wondering whether I can change my multiplier. My current multiplayer is 8X.....

Im having problems with my oc. I cant boot my system over 250FSB. When i put the FSB on 255Mhz the system dosnt boot. I tried 3 multipliers memory 5:4 ,3:2 and 1:1 and with none of them it doesnt work. I tried to put higher voltage (i tried even 1,76 V) and it booted but it crashed when i started playing COD2 for test. So can any1 help me? What should i do,or is this my max oc. The MB is Gigabyte 8IPE 1000 Pro rev 2. memory Hynix D43 and processor P4 2.6Ghz HT Northwood

CPU idle at 1.57vcore- ~45c CPU load at 1.57vcore- ~57c GPU idle at 1.4v- ~39c GPU load at 1.4v- ~46c ------------------------------------ Hoping to get some good pots for a few Dry-ice runs @ 5ghz...*a 4ghz e6700 is only good enough for ~63rd place..yikes!

What's up guys. I was chatting some SuperPi with a friend last night and figured this might be a neat thing for you guys to implement if you have any spare time. (what's that?) As you can see from the graphs below that Vapor whipped up, time and CPU speed are inversely proportional. With a trendline like this, or even without, its easy to visually predict what sort of time you'd end up with at a given CPU speed. This would work equally well for SuperPi 32M and PiFast. Hello guys, First post here, I would like to mention something that disturbs me a little, Some guys are posting scores from Athlon Xp1800 or even older setups like Pentium 2,3,Celeron 333,400 , making WR and gathering points. You will tell me that you will need to post 50 scores to gather 100 points but with 5 different CPUs it is quite easy. there is no point in Posting scores on hwbot on all the benchmarks and gathering 100 points with ease beacuse of this. Some other is benching really hard and some other just give a try to ancient hardware in order to have points. This is my personal thoughts of course and i am not representing someone else…

I got a Geforce 6600LE PCIe NV43 A-4 i heard that i can unlock extra piplines but only in the BIOS, I soft mod'ed it to a Geforce 6610 XL, Has any one else heard of Unlocking these pipe lines in the bios? Current: 4pp,3vp

Hi HWBot Team. I use hwbot ALOT.. probably more then a regular person should. Overall the site is very well designed and layout. There is always more then one way to get the information you need. A feature that i use all the time is the "Quick Search" toolbar on the left side of the screen. this is a great time saving feature. i would like to request it be modified just a bit: 1.
