The official HWBOT OC Challenge January 2012 thread.
knopflerbruce replied to Massman's topic in HWBOT Competitions
So you can run a quad socket rig with 4 dual cores for the 2x stage? Lol. -
EVBot shouldn't be a part of the discussion, i've seen them on the EVGA site, with a pricetag of $100 bucks (or what it was). Xpander... well, what do you get? 4-way support? You can get 4-way support by using non-ASUS boards. It's not a feature unique to the xpander. Untouchable could be different, but I didn't know other people than Ilya and Vince used those, and they're in the pro league AFAIK. Plus, Ilya designed the thing - he should be allowed to use it. It's "his" product.

s1366 high memory clock submissions

OK; so no disaster then? -
Should be OK if you ask me, as long as it's a verified bug and as much of the GPUZ details are displayed using other tools.

SB-E 3930K/3960X Batch and Serial Numbers
knopflerbruce replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge-E / Ivy Bridge (X79) OC
Maybe you should add CPU model info to the first post, could be interesting to know if 3930k actually overclocks worse than 3960x for example. -

A different (and better approach) could be to award the lowest scores, too - like if you have 11 teams competing you could give 10-8-6-5-4-3-4-5-6-8-10 points for a stage. Fighting for the 5th score is quite silly, you cant really aim for it while benching - you got no real target, you can't push the system in any direction and have a better chance of winning. -
Is it possible to have both options? I kinda don't like it this way, before it was very easy to find new posts - now I have to look closely at all the dates - not to mention remember when I logged in the last time. I don't know why the "new post" stuff won't go away after I read the threads, that SHOULD happen in both cases, no? The way it is now the whole feature is completely useless:p

Not the best news, but IMO we have no choice but to remove the scores done with the wrong dividers. -
Processor specifications requests : please 90nm cpu

+1, bought a pair of those a couple of days ago -
If the score is normal for the setup I'd say it's OK - nothing REALLY vital missing, clocks and GPU details are visible. Depends if we allow mistakes or not, but we have the "common sense" policy, so... As long as it happens just once and not several times.

The official HWBOT Country Cup 2011 thread.
knopflerbruce replied to Massman's topic in HWBOT Competitions
Huge congrats to Poland:celebration: But why was the last stage rewarded with 25 points and the others just 10 or 15? Makes little sense to me... Should've been 15. Would've sucked if a country got a bad score in just that one and lost the top spot because of that alone, even though that team perhaps owned the rest. -

maybe we should collect some info and post it somewhere - just stuff that makes the benchmark run without issues:D -

Erm, it could be the windows version, win 8 is a beta product after all. -

Intel NDA Desktop Platform Roadmap WW03 2012
knopflerbruce replied to Christian Ney's topic in General hardware discussion
So basically it's just an IGP upgrade. Unless it does 5.5 on air, no reason to upgrade for a 24/7 user:D I wonder if it's got the same walls as SB/SB-E. -

So, how does this compare to sandy bridge for example? -

So, how much faster than SB is this chip then? I see only lego pics in the link as well, with one exception - Fritz chess.
