    i7 990x

All the Xeon parts I've seen and been given some info about by a lil' birdie are B1 stepping. Anyway, we'll find out for real sooner or later.

Nobody I know has a 990X ES Who told you about that ( 5GHz on water 990X ES ) ?
  3. New Windows XP x86 Professional SP3 version uploaded. Works fine with the latest patches of the 3D Mark series ( fixed the "System info error" ). For SuperPi, PiFast & wPrime use the older version, works better for those benchmarks. Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 Xtreme 2 ( 3D Mark Series System Info Error Fixed ) Filelist @ BenchZone: http://www.benchzone.com/Downloads/Temp/WXPx68X2/ "Link-List" @ RS: http://rapidshare.com/users/DCL8AT Enjoy p.s. 4. It is an E.S. While the micro-code override will make retail chips appear as E.S. I can't find a bloody switch that enables the retail chips ( even with 2.4V RAM ) run SuperPi @ 6.9G
  5. First of all Andre Yang was hired by Asus to be their "Hicookie". Their target is to reign the HWbot rankings and leagues ( if the pro & amateur thing gets done ) in any way possible. Just like somebody I know said "Andre & Asus = perfect match, they both have no ethics". By the way, Andre has been sharing scores before, including one of the "big guns" in the shared scores list, and I have 100% solid proof. He's also a fan of the "telling lies" group, saying contradicting things to various people ( even to the ones who may be considered his "friends" ), his word has the same value to a politician's... hmm... none.
  6. Same BIOS, and both cropping the task bar ( suspicious minds.com )
  7. Skewing out of topic though, topic = andre yang benching for asus under jtchen's account.
  8. Very easy. Actually you don't need an experienced BIOS engineer to do that, even an amateur can do it.
  9. One way or another we all know who that is. andre_yang@asus.com Unless people want to believe that all out of sudden, a few days after Andre got hired by Asus Taiwan, the lucky beta tester jtchen found a great CPU and thought of benching it for HWbot...
  10. Any retail would show 980X unless you edit the CPU Microcodes in the BIOS firmware. Why would anyone want to show a retail chip as an ES, I don't know. In every other case the CPU is an E.S. And this CPU is beyond any reasonable doubt an E.S.
  11. First of all, nobody didn't pay any attention to the CPU-z windows ? Look at the Specification string ( yes, that's an ES string, retail CPUs show 980X not 000 ). And look at the other fields and the fact that it doesn't say it's an ES. Good job Andre & Asus. Perhaps they didn't just edit the CPU-z window ?
  12. Nice card man! Do the Vmem and raise the mems to 1400 and combine that with a CPU uplift and 5870 ranks will be shaken well
  13. Win7 x86/x64 to WinXP x86 = 2k boost LoD will also help you gain a few MHz on the card.

Binning won't help in any way regarding the CPU's longevity under extreme cooling / overclocking. Endurance won't change unless they enhanced the manufacturing process or revise the core ( which warrants a new revision/stepping )
  15. You want to re-run that 03 in XP x86 with the 257.21 drivers Petri.

B1 stepping for both Core i7 and Xeon parts. They're ES's of course, but I don't think they have a new stepping for the retails.
  17. The obsession about points, teams and co is one of the sources of all the bad things we're looking at nowadays happening in the OC community & "hobby".
  18. Leave the alternative CBB mod as is ( I mean done' date=' connected ) and do an additional mod. Connect a 10kOhm VR set at 10kOhm between the SMD capacitor and the left empty solder pad on the right as shown in the following pic [img']http://www.abload.de/img/gtx480_alt_add_cbbr7gm.jpg[/img] Hope this one will help you
  19. WinXP x86, GF257.21. And do the Vmem and shoot 1.7V to the mems. You should get to 1200MHz mem or even higher with it
  20. You don't want the commando. Troublesome board, stupid limitations ( OCP or OVP ) [ OVP @ 2V ? is a possibilty, else it was OCP ]. Vcore jumps all over the place one way or another ( Vdroop mod helps just a little bit, and of course doesn't fix the jumping Vcore @ POSTing & booting into windows ).
  21. Looks like my thread title was a psychic prediction... PALINKA. One shot drink, drop-down. The CPU has at least degraded or is about to die ( or just my mobo got f*cked up ) The 2 alive MGH-E from my 3ple channel A-data kit seem to be dead My classified seems to be dead after some poof and a tad smoke. All in all, I might be out of CPU, RAM, Mobo now... Stupid F batch CPU, 1 session with only a few liters of LN2, real voltages under 1.86V, and already degraded ? F*ck this sh1t.
