  1. Depends on the wife AND how a MAN handles his wife.
  2. Heyo brother Receiving tomorrow my brand new Apex X and an Asus Rampage VI Extreme Edition. Will use my immaculate Apex VI for Kaby-X. Logical or not, I FINALLY want to bench these little suckers under my super strong SS. To be followed by a superb I7-8700K and an I9-9900K ( 5.2 on water ) that I still have in their boxes ( both courtesy of my good friend @aerotracks ). Might also check out my Apex IX if it is better with coffee. But, as you very well know me bro, I am a stubborn MULE - lol, lol, lol. I HAVE TO BENCH the little suckers first. Why ? Just because... And the X299 OCF certainly did not help My very best to you Thanks brother.
  3. Probably yes, but on the other hand, how can you explain that same cpu's installed on Asus Apex VI perform flawlessly - 7740x - 6ghz 7640X - 6.2ghz Enter Turbo Vcore application, adjust Vcore only, adjust speed respectively - apply and bench. Finish, reboot and all over again and again and again for hours ( way of speaking ). No issue at all - NONE. So, I can't really see - EOL or not - how Kabylake-X works like a charm on one brand of boards and fails another. TBH, I do not have the time or the mood or the extended knowledge to pin down the issue ( if any ). I prefer to sell ( even with a loss ) and move on
  4. First upfront Thank you all for all the effort to help me. I sincerely feel extremely obliged. Tried also bios 1.18. Same. So, I think I am done. Board is getting off the benchtable, will be cleaned thoroughly and back to its box. Most probably it will be sold on eBay. What a huge shame. I am 110% sure that it is an isolated case - the board is magnificent - mem handling superb, BUT this multiplier issue is a big problem. AGAIN, thank you all for spending precious time for me. You guys rock
  5. Of course from scratch. I never-ever use preset profiles - in any motherboard. Not even mem profiles.
  6. Leaving aside the usual voltages, I tried in bios cpu and pch pll voltages up to 1.40 and cpu standy voltage from auto ( 1.30 ) to 1.45. No difference whatsoever.
  7. Two ssd's. Clean installations. W7X64 and W10X64. So I suppose OS is excluded from the "thriller". AFD, tried 4 versions. Same all. Two very good cpu's and numerous ram sets ( I know, irrelevant ). PSU Corsair AX1600i - brand new. Starting to get that "itch" in my belly that something is wrong with the board - unfortunately
  8. I do not have bios 1.18. And it is not listed in AsRock site. But I tried 1.10 and 1.20
  9. Yeap. It freezes immediately. And yes I tried to Bclk up and yes I tried thru XTU. Nothing works Another thing I forgot to mention. Two weeks ago, I had installed ( with bios 1.50 back then ) my very good I7-7820X. Had no issue - NONE - running 5.5ghz with 1.42V on the same SS. It even ran 5.4ghz H265 4K with same voltage, without even turning positive not even on one core. Going nuts, lol
  10. Alright then I tried this version of AFD. Nope. I tried back-up bios 1.10. Nope. I updated back-up bios to 1.20. Nope. I tried strap 125. Nope. For some technical reason, the board declines to operate over 5.8ghz. Both on my tried and tested cpu's. 5.8ghz CBR15 1.42V perfect. 5.9ghz system freezes even with 1.58V applied and LLC1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Will leave the tread open, in case some expert besides @bigblock990 comes up with a possible solution. Then I will have to sell the board or use it somewhere else, where less demanding situations exist. I am very unhappy
  11. First time with this superb X299 board. I have come across an issue that is at least peculiar to me. Two cpu's - 1) I7-7740X capable of 6ghz on Nachtfalke's 2hp SS, with 1.58V, running anything up there on Asus Apex VI 2) Superb I5-7640X capable of 6.2ghz at 1.57V on same SS and board. On the AsRock with the latest bios 1.60, it is impossible to go beyond 58 multi. Whatever voltage. As soon as I apply 59 in Formula Drive, the whole system freezes and needs hard reset. I would be really thankful for any help given, since it is a wonderful board and I would not like to part with it. Thank you all
  12. Free bump, item n.1 is up for sale again MY GREAT FRIEND "aerotracks" gave me something a bit better. Best seller on HWBOT
  13. Folks, Might sound irrelevant, not sure though if it is... Did anyone else notice that only 71 members have voted ? Is that a 0.00001% of active members or less ? Does the community have no interest in poles ? Is the community tired of multiple changes and changes and changes ? Is the community not interested in Global points ? Whatever the reason (s), the sample voting is so small, that I wonder if this pole can be seriously taken into account.
  14. Well... 1) I totally agree with what @websmile ( Michael ) wrote and I have made the same observations myself. 2) My very good I7-7740X running 6ghz on SS died EXACTLY as @Splave ( Allen ) described, running one single session of H265 - 4K - 2X overkill mode ( 2 runs ). Shut down the system normally, next day I got that wonderful 00 - cpu dead. And it is definitely not 18 or 16 cores where I suppose absolute hell will break loose. So, my 16 and 18 core cpu's will never see H265 4K or even H265 at all, however many points it gives. And since @havli prefers to put things the hard way ( which I like ), I am not prepared nor will I ever be again to lose a cpu ( price irrelevant ) on a benchmark. Unless a sponsor suddenly falls in love with me and starts shipping boxes of FREE cpu's to me. No XTU and no X265 ( for me at least ) GPUPI - 1B is very interesting though. I think it should get globals.
  15. It is indeed a very nice and hopeful change, that the community's opinions are taken into account. Because the "climate" till several months back ( all understand what I mean ), was "our way or piss off". Respect
  16. History can't be wiped not even by God. There is no book, document, database, records in written form or digital form, for ANYTHING in this world that can be wiped or deleted or ignored. From medicine, to pioneers at any field, to NASA astronauts that went to the moon, to ANYTHING. Unless a lunatic drops a nuclear bomb ( or more ) and everything is physically destroyed. We must be EXTREMELY careful on this.
  17. Folks, Does anyone REALLY believe that there are 204.959 Enthusiast members active ? Yes, I understand that from a marketing point of view, any new visitor here that thinks to join, says WOW. Truth though is so far-far away. I strongly doubt that there are no more than 15.000 active members in TOTAL, league irrelevant. And this is an extremely optimistic number. For example : An individual comes in here 10-5-3 years ago, submits 5-10-20 scores and never returns. All these stay in the database and are taken into account every single time a re-calculation happens. What is the meaning of retaining all these in the database ? Even Windows OS, has an option " delete old files " - " free up disk space " - " Defragment " My understanding is that this is a rational approach, easy to apply and does not hurt anyone. Not even the "marketing point of view". Registered users is one thing - benching members is another. Just my 2 cents.
  18. 1.95V - Well you have BIG BALLS brother :) Some 4133 / 12-11 would certainly improve things a bit more ( I suppose )
  19. AGREED - even if 1 year sounds a bit short period ( I had not benched anything for 16 months ), but 2 years is more than enough. As I had stated months ago, it would be nice ( and very helpful for server load ) to have a realistic understanding of not the registered users but the active members that bench.
