It is getting epidemic, lol This one ( Apex X ) did not even work on cold. Died before that. Under water. Shame on Asus. Asking 400-500-600 Euros for boards . In the last three months, I received an Asus Apex VI from Amazon.de, brand new. DOA. Returned, refunded. A month later, a Rampage VI extreme. DOA. Returned, replaced, working in my daily rig. Thank God good up to now. WTF is going on ???

Lesson learned : To have piece of mind, DO NOT BUY second hand Asus boards. Buy new, with invoice and warranty. Yes, you pay more, but whatever shit comes up, your ass is covered. Thank God that I own numerous BRAND NEW ultra expensive boards, bought from Amazon.de with warranty of 2 years. Unless a friendly member comes up with a helpful suggestion, it goes to eBay. FOR THE LAST TIME.

As for the Apex VI, YOU KNOW from whom it came and we have discussed it. The board was already repaired and I was fucked.

Ha, Yes, the first Apex X died due to the superb 8Pack 2000W garbage psu, that fried it. Any other component like what Bala ????? 4 X Corsair AX1600i PSU's and 2 X AX1200i PSU's. What else ? A quick google search showed hundreds and hundreds of Asus Z370 boards with exactly the same issue.

Well...it is one of these moments, when you start scratching your head, wondering if there is any reliability left in high end Asus boards. Some may remember the " USB over current protection " issue I had with my Apex VI. Well, just for history, board went to Czech Republic ( European Asus service center ) for repair. And guess what ? Asus was unable to repair the board and since there was no invoice available ( was purchased second hand ), returned it to me. NICE !!! On subject. Apex X. Set up with a water loop in order to make some disks with various OS. Everything stock. Random I5-8600K and some ddr4 mems. Upon reboot, lights remain on, but board denies to start. Long story short, everything checked, changed PSU, changed battery, did a total drain of the board. Nope. As this was not enough, bios flash back does not work either. Board dead dry, no insulation applied yet. Friends, your knowledge and Fantasy is welcome. Otherwise, it will be the second Asus board going to eBay, as "parts, not working"

I dont know about 8086K. The best I7-8700K ever was sold by me to top Elite member privately for 1*** Euros. 5.6ghz core, 5.1ghz cache, delidded, Thermal Grizzly Condactonaut, 1.41V true ( 1.40V set in Bios ), LLC7 Apex 10. Cooling : 2 X XSPC EX420 rads and EKWB double D5 pump. Ambient 22c. At that time, this CPU, broke all 6 core records under LN2. 5.5ghz core would be an amazing find with 1.40V or less. Expect to pay 650 Euros +++.

Nope, the kit arrived in due time It is indeed a pain to reach 4800 / 14-3-13-28-2T. On Apex XI it needs 2.02V in bios. Have not yet managed to configure best settings in thirds and RTL-IOL, although I have saved your published profile. Good thing is that all my three cpu's ( I5-8600K, I7-8700K and I9-9900K ) have superb IMC and can cope with these settings. Unfortunately Apex does not play well with A2 pcb in tight timings and 1T. Shame that such a board ( both Apex X and Apex XI ) suffer in this. Fortunately the Galax Oc Lab set is a similar miracle ( 4200 / 12-11-11-28-1T / tight as hell ) with 2.04V. So the pair ( A1 - Galax / A2 - G.Skill ) cover every need 110%. Memory's lover heaven. THANK YOU !

Not to spoil the party friends, but has anyone done a direct comparison of this board with Apex XI ? I mean with the same cpu, mems and cooling of course I am just trying to see if it is justified to pay 150 Euros more than the Apex XI, and what you get for it.

Folks, I have dropped the price to 300 Euros. I most sincerely wish to offer to the community the possibility to acquire the, maybe, best SS in the world. I am unlucky that I live in a city in Greece, where no expert help is available. I am also too damn stupid that I initially bought ( with tons of enthusiasm ) this machine, not taking into consideration the obvious - shit happens. So, before I throw it in the garbage bin ( takes a lot of space ), grab this opportunity, if you live some where that this easy fix is doable professionally and with responsibility. It is going to cost you 650 tops, all in. I paid 1150 Euros.

Hi all, Bought this superb ( one of a kind ) SS from here : The unit operated in my hands for 4 months without any issue at all. Unfortunately, a leak appeared right at the point where the lines enter the condenser. The leak must have been extremely small in the beginning, because the only thing I noticed was a slight drop in cooling power and idle temps going from -65c to -62 and then -59c. A month ago, one day while at idle ( was changing a vga ), I heard a strong Hsssss sound. Took some seconds to understand what was going on. First temps fell to -72c and then rose abruptly to -50c , -30c, -10c and turned positive as I hit the off button on the PSU. All in all, all R507 gas ( approximately as stated by the manufacturer 400gr ) was lost. Long story short. The unit IS NOT locally repairable. Many efforts have been done, and I am extremely sad, because with this unit I had managed to get rid of the mess of Dice. Unfortunately, as it turned out, the cost of returning the unit to the manufacturer for FREE repair, under warranty and then come back is about 600 Euros. So, I wish to sell this unit to anyone that is willing to uptake the cost of transportation and has local experts to repair this leak and reload the compressor with gas. It is an 1 hour job ( as Nachtfalke explained ) and the unit will be back to top condition. I am asking only for the ridiculous amount of 400 300 Euros. I am not willing to search for transport, get quotes or arrange pick-up. The potential buyer must take care of this. I will of course take care of extreme packing. It is a 40kg unit and with packing almost 45kg. All in all, with an expense of 700 Euros at most, this one of a kind unit can return to top condition and serve its new owner. I offer no warranty. Small damage, but still there is damage to the unit. Payment with PayPal only as friends and family only. Or Bank transfer. The transportation must be insured and I carry no liability if it is not. I was ready to throw the unit to the garbage bin. But I thought to give a chance to my fellow benchers to acquire this monster for almost half the price I paid ( including shipping and repair ). EDIT : Obviously, if someone lives either in Greece or nearby countries, local pickup is welcome.

Hi, I have one I9-9900K boxed. Pictures follow. This cpu does either on Apex X or Apex XI 5.1ghz with 1.27V and 5.2ghz with 1.35V. Triple radiator with a strong water pump is must. What is the problem Albrecht ? Can't I use two screens when benching or taking a screenshot ? One screen next to the other. Please explain. As for 5203.8 Bus speed is 100 as seen. If clock slipped at the millisecond I took the shot, OK. Delete them. I do not rebench. Too old for that.
