Competition points can't be eliminated ( restricted to Team efforts ). I have participated in lots of competitions in the past, where I was absolutely certain that there was no chance to win the prizes. I had to buy HW in order to participate ( for the points ), and then lose money by reselling this HW. Only LN2 benchers can win prizes. All the rest participate for points. Remove points = no participation. Furthermore, competitions are a vital part of HWBOT since spirit is kept high and there is a lot of interest.

Since the vague picture of diversifying leagues based on way of cooling ( especially Novice-enthusiast category where things are even more than vague ), is gone and long due for an overhaul, which should have happened years ago. It is actually more simple to understand with a paradigm, unless someone is so heavily preoccupied to "see himself" in the first ten places of any league ( novice-enthusiast-apprentice extreme ), only to have his ego satisfied in the virtual world of the web, hidden behind a nickname. So, wanna raise in rankings ? Improve your knowledge and invest money in cooling. Use Dice, use SS, use Cascade and finally use LN2 and go up the ladder ( seasonal or carrier ). And finally let's stop this hide and seek to what is ambient and what is not.

Furthermore, the name of the game has now moved to 9900k. I have 2 X 8700K, doing on ambient 5.5ghz core / 5.1ghz cache on Apex X with LLC6 at 1.40V and 1.41V respectively. Both surpass 6ghz on SS, CBR15. A third one I had that did 5.6ghz with 1.46V was privately sold. GLWS though !

Although I DO admire your thoughtful approach, your patience and persistence, aren't you tired ? ( I am - a lot ). The smile has long ago disappeared from my face. I feel it is like a crowd of thousands of people, without any direction, without any specific signs where to go. And even if and when this whole "discussions and poles" issue comes to some kind of end, we will start all over talking AGAIN, in less than a year. That ain't a hoby anymore.
