Not making it a trade thread at all... nothing I have said about Dimas has been good besides the fact that I hate that there isn't anyone else in the market. Hell, look at the thread I made over at OCN begging CaseLabs to start making tech benches because Dimas is so terrible to work with. Even though I purchased a bench from Dimas, my updates in this thread have said nothing but they are making me jump through hoops to get a bench that isn't even what I wanted in the first place. They're running their business poorly and this thread clearly shows that. Like I mentioned earlier, I really hope you can get your money from them. Hopefully some of the money I gave them will end up going to you. By this point though, and if you haven't already, involving a lawyer might be the best step.

You talking to me or chartiet? I couldn't care less for sympathy and it looks like he just found out that this has been an ongoing issue. I'm taking a calculated risk and can afford to have $220 tied up for a few months. It's not like there are any decent alternatives right now anyway.

Never ship a motherboard in a box that's too small
xxbassplayerxx replied to xxbassplayerxx's topic in Offtopic
Yep... I don't think what it is with these motherboards, but I had another taco'd P5E3 Premium that worked quite well. It wasn't quite as bad as this but it had some curve to it! Here are the photos of that one: -

Only fish is in the tacos It may actually work... we'll see. And the Surface is the work rig... not mine personally -
This arrived today. But I didn't order tacos  The board was in a box that was too small so it was sitting in it diagonally. Going to test it tonight once I bend that VRM sink back so it actually hits the mosfets.

Tried bending the chip back but no luck. Honestly, the bend was so small that I don't think that was the issue. I think the chip actually died in some other manner. Have two new chips to test today, L548C027 and X548B926. I'll update this evening when I get them tested. Have 35L of LN2 as well... so that should help

Chip is dead. Getting a replacement today. -
We'll see what ends up happening. I'll open a Paypal dispute before their window closes. Like 45 days after transaction or something? I wish Pulse and Rosty luck in getting their money back. Until someone else comes and starts releasing decent bench tables, I'll continue to play the low-risk Dimas game. No way I'd send them money for a phase unit though.

I WANT TO GET OFF MR. BONES WILD RIDE!
-
Turns out it didn't ship yesterday. I opted for the XL but I really did just want the v3.0, despite the "upgrade" aspects of the XL. It's 50mm deeper than the v3.0 (just under 2"), so not much larger. Width and height are the same. Unfortunately I love the white color on the bench, otherwise I would have gone for one of the other colors on the 3.0.

These are B-Die, G.Skill 3000 14-14-14 sticks. Best for XTU is Windows 10 32-bit... that should help! -
FB incoming......

Bump! Let me know what you have, even if it's not quite as strong as what I posted in the OP.

Tried an X548 Vietnam chip last night with some weird behavior. Before delid, did XTU at 4900/4800 @ 1.452V measured with DMM. Didn't actually try to lower the volts... After delid, temperatures didn't improve at all and neither did clocks... still loading at ~82°C. I took it apart again, reapplied TIM, and popped it back in. It started hanging on 55 every time, even with all completely stock. I popped in my 6320 and it booted fine. Started looking at the chip itself and one corner is bent up a tiny bit. I tried to bend it back by hand but it needs heat. I'll give it a go later today. But damn... how is Skylake so fragile? I didn't do anything to this chip to bend that corner... it was just from putting it in the socket?

Gigabyte Z170X-SOC Force - DDR4
xxbassplayerxx replied to xxbassplayerxx's topic in Memory Heaven (air/extreme)
It's definitely some sort of setting. It wouldn't even boot 3200 with my settings for 3866, even with the tWRWR_dd and _dr set to 8. EDIT: Tried RTL's 49/50 6/6... going to keep trying more in a minute.
