  1. So Andre when can I buy the crap chip that does only 6.2Ghz 3D ? Good binning job there man,awesome...
  2. Nah Salland always does this trick but you still have to wait weeeeeeeeks before the board arrives...
  3. so question is intentional or unintentional
  4. First thriller episode of F1 is hardly comparable to this situation here Bill... Nick made some big errors from the start ( deviating form his own rules, under manufacturer pressure ? mostly arranged behind the scenes) Flaws that he never publicly admitted. Plus he avoided any input to get the league better from participating members, bystanders and Hwbot crew... and yes in the end it all turned against him. As it seems Hwbot crew was already tinkering with the different league a while back. But are maybe awaiting the right time to imply it. Thing is : this split up will be a shocker to many again, just as the new revision was. After a few weeks/months the dust will settle and most won't even look back. Though those that end up in the pro league and don't have the capacity/money/... to compete will be bashing the forum... In my defence... getting loads of review gear. (though not much ends up under Phase/LN2 , unless it's for a quick run of max Bclock,... to get some nice screenies in the reviews.) does that qualify me as a Pro. some might think so, I don't think I'm a Pro. I can't even voltmod It has to be well discussed between the crew and then passed on to us the clockers who will and won't be in the Pro league. What are valid arguments to be classified directly in the pro league ? Freebies, doing some live events ? LN2 usage ? Voltmodding skills ? Top scores ? Global points ? Hardware points ? That's what we need to discuss now, not what happenend in the past... Get a drink, smoke a ciggie and get some air Bill, you are far too tense at the moment to think 100% rationally... Try a positive approach to this then just... We need to get data together now of what will be a valid argument for who is and is not to be in the league... Help the crew out there, I know you can do it ! Smartpants :nana:
  5. Bin us 100 CPU's Andre, I will buy the crap one that does only 6.1 3D , that's already fine for my standards Why don't you compete in GOOC anymore ?
  6. ES is not always better mate... ES AO in this case is better than all the rest, but there were other ES cpu's out there that where just plain well euh crap
  7. Very good resumé of my thoughts Bruce...
  8. Well if I asked you to sell that 345 a few years back would you have done it ? these Super CPU's (if still alive) will also be up for grasps a while from now. But then new stuff will be out that's again faster... don't you see the same trend repeating itself
  9. ES wasn't always better Bill... it's an endless discussion that has no winners, only loosers...
  10. Only thing to me that is different with these E8600 and your dilemma is that the quantity is far less, for the rest it's all about a certain CPU that is just plain better then all the rest... you can discuss endlessly, I just say good luck to those that have these clocking monsters, I can't compete untill I get a good CPU somewhere, somehow, someday. But ban, move their scores is a bit far stretched to me...
  11. And how many ES's do that ? one ? a few ? What about all E8600 users that couldn't do 6.5Ghz 3D ? and had to settle at 6-6.2Ghz... same story but retail this time... in a past not so far away... I see the ones voting againt ES in general as a bit frustrated clockers, just because they couldn't get these samples. I would want to know if they got an AO if they didn't want to bench the bejeezus out of it... it's life, some just have more fun... does it make them better than you, that's another thing... on paper yes they have the higher score, but can they do the same on a live event ? That's another thing... Maybe Massman and co can work out a score based on efficiency ( score vs CPU/GPU clocks )...
  12. well it would be a major bummer if you weren't there... as we need your expertise...
  13. Big bang roXors, amasing retail !! great score lads, imagine with the GPU OC'ed
  14. it's always like hunting down the golden batch Bill, the ones that got them crazy AO ES samples just got the edge over the rest... but there are some freaky retails out there too... you can't ban them too, as they have an edge over the other retails... it's a no win situation man... Imagine if you bought one or more ES samples and they were all crap... case is like always : if you have good contacts or enough cash to spare you can do a wide selection of hardware. Users like me have to have big luck as I can only afford one CPU and one motherboard, if it's crap I have to try to sell it asap, probably with a big loss... and hoping the next buy will be better... He with the most toys win Bill, nothing even you can do anything about it ( sadly )
  15. Next monday already ? I think that should be doable, Monday is spaghetti day at my place with some good wine
  16. Really weird that almost noone has it then besides Asus, Gigabyte and eVGA limted crew . And noone shares this public mod... Slow and the other 480 mods aren't as widely spread as you think Bill Nvidia figured this GTX480 mod out, gave it to a selected crowd and the happy few OC'ers that got it have to abide some NDA or such... and in case they don't have an NDA they comment with replies like this : "I don't want to share, because I don't want anyone to beat me" or I like SF3D in his nice video "GTX480 has no cold bug"...c'mon Wow now that's sportmanship in it's purest form !! sorry to go offtopic here...
  17. Nice one, I got a new sample board form Asus incoming, hope it fixes my LN2 issues...
  18. for gaming ? what res is of your preference... I can still run my games, have to miss out on directX11 ofc, but if you never seen it who cares ...
  19. No swearing nor cursing George, only Benchzowner got a waver for that Hardware overclocking has never been fair has it... some get samples straight from the manufacturer (don't need to pay for them), some get access to dozens of CPU, motherboards to preselect or bin, some find the golden sample straigth in a shop while you are already on eg ya 5th 980X... while others get cherry picked ones from Intel or AMD... Whatever you want to do by implementing rules or such, somebody will always have a backdoor open to get access to something new or better... it's human nature sadly... Take eg the slow mod for the GTX480, who's been sharing that publicly ? Don't you find that sad ? I really do... I never got that magic E8600 batch before , now I have one via tweakers.net and now it's my board that is FSB limited :nana: Life goes on
