  1. That CPU is the thing of geeky dreams. Congrats on the score guys.
  2. I was thinking that a leader-board similar to the member of the month system found on each team might be good for people to see who has been the most active bencher for each week/month/year and to see where they stack up compared to others. What I mean is a leader-board where every single person, no matter what team they are on is on it, if they have submitted a result in that specific time frame. Just an idea not a problem if others don't agree or don't want to see this sort of thing. Lewis.
  3. After a kit of Hypers for some fun with my REX. If you have a kit that you're willing to sell then post here and I will get back to you
  4. If my testing is anything to go by it's extremely bugged with odd numbers amongst other things. Single core brought more consistent bugged runs for me than with a dual for example.
  5. Not sure if I do, we should be looking more towards benchmarks which really do test the likes of the 4960X fully Multi-threaded to give points to. Old benchmarks like wPrime 32M really aren't good enough any more as the CPUs are just too good for the benchmark. If we concentrate on getting benchmarks to run on older platforms then we run the risk of not furtureproofing for the latest chips. Imho we need a new benchmark which was as hard as SuperPi 32M for the old P4 CPUs but is fully multi-threaded.
  6. I agree, not everyone is going to fully understand the whole bugged or not bugged situation and the only way to guarantee good results every time is to force everyone to run stock.
  7. According to the rules it has to be a set price, no bidding like ebay.
  8. woot woot!!! I'm getting somewhere
  9. Now I'm confused again because 15/3 = 5. Am I right in thinking then that with an odd number of cores we need the division to equate to an odd number too or does it also have to be even and this is another mistake in the example??
  10. Unless I'm being dumb, your example would also be invalid because 60/4 = 15 i.e. an odd number What's the deal with numbers that don't divide exactly into each other then, I assume they are also invalid?
  11. yes but isn't the problem that we're getting to a point where the silicon simply cannot be cut any smaller since it's theoretically impossible?
  12. I was under the impression that both R and P are both registered and technically mean the same thing. Most probs wrong about that though The P is meant to stand for parity which is just the same as registered. You're right about all the others too
  13. If we were to go this deep could we ban everyone in the top 6 for using non retail OS versions???
  14. I just blamed the small size on the cold temperatures around me. I mean........... Um..........
  15. The worse thing is my parents literally say to people I make computers go faster. The amount of messages I've had on facebook of people telling me their computer is slow and asking if I can make it faster for them is ridiculous
  16. Nice one mate, thank you very much.
  17. you also have the problem then where you can have a CPU like the 8320 and 8350 which will almost always clock around the same on ambient, so people will complain that 8320 users will always get a higher percentage. Unfortunately you can't always please everyone but I do think it would be very interesting to have a stage like PCM2005 just have people doing some proper tweaking
  18. Would you take €150 inc shipping for the CPU pot and NB pot? If so could you wait till Friday for payment as I get paid on Friday
  19. little bump on the subject
  20. Very nice thread, been looking for OC results with these chips as I was going to have a little play myself. Can't wait to get hold of a system now
  21. Core off is never allowed and I don't see why it would be any different here. But yes you are right, a single core Sempron would be best for this stage. My Semprons do on average 4.5GHz on good water which should be around the 1400 mark which would be best
