  1. Ya I understand, going to create a wanted post. Having trouble binning myself so need to spend some extra money on a pre-binned kit.
  2. if you need to sell any please let me know.
  3. Also passed 1hr real bench. I Used the der8auer 24/7 5ghz profile and booted up without any adjustments, his profile also sets xmp for you and 3 negative avx offset. This cpu is pretty strong, just about passes real bench at 5180mhz at this voltage but crashed after 30min. Testing memory for super pi and xtu tonight. Also got a 7350k, excited to try it out.
  4. I have been pouring down to like -175 while adjusting voltages in bios so can handle -175, then booting and starting bench at like 6ghz and then pouring to full pot, then after that adjusting to the multi you want and should be able to do max multi. Not saying this is perfect method but worked for me, nacho gave me a lot of good suggestions, and dancops post helped me a lot. I used to fool around at low temps while keeping load on cpu while pouring down, that was bad idea for skylake.
  5. ya they got some fresh 7350k's last night, batch L647, hopefully I find a nice one. Your cpu looks really promising, especially before delid.
  6. You shouldn't start running benches at -90c to check anything if planning on going full pot after. That was one of my problems when having a lot of cracks.
  7. Installed XP last night, was really easy. Just used old guide from maximus viii thread and replaced the firahelper with the new ones elmor posted. It's really fast. I'm sure most people know that but just wanted to mention. Elmor said that you can boot your z170 install with z170 and manually update to z270 sata controller driver and then boot on z270. Felt good to go fresh though.
  8. MAXIMUS IX APEX OVERCLOCKING THREAD!!!! Figured this board is so amazing we could use a separate thread to post results, show off our mem oc's and show off some of the new APEX features. There are some great new Pro Overclocker memory profiles under "2x8GB New Samsung Single-Side" There is a Dancop XTU World Record Profile. There is a Fredayama 32m profile. There is also a Raja 24/7 profile and another Raja profile under 2x16gb Samsung Double Side. I just got the board so I have only setup OS and boot with xmp to test mem, booted 4266mhz xmp without any adjustments. Will start posting 32m mem results and more features and ln2 results in this thread. There is also some new der8auer 24/7 5ghz profiles and a really cool slamms benchmarking profiles. I just extracted the specific XP pages from the guide and replaced the firahelper images with the new ones for Z270. it looks like they will also work for Z170.)
  9. well at least after 1 cpu, Tapakah's batch# could have kept me away from this horrible thing. 1 of mine is L640F774, 1 number after his L640F773 Tested last night on Apex. 5.0ghz r15 needs 1.31v and 5.1ghz wouldnt pass at all, would even lock up in OS at 5.1 at 1.35v. Un-delidded on custom loop.
  10. ya that's kinda what I was thinking, might just switch for a different one, his seems really bad. I have a L631 also but havent seen anyone with one yet.
  11. I cant believe out of all batch's in this thread I had to match up with this one. Mine is L640F774 I also have a L631 something, seems old, hopefully can test tonight, has anyone had a L631
  12. After Dancop's post I dont fool around at lower temps anymore to test anything, that was one of the biggest reason why I was losing my mount. I just trust my mount and pull down to around -175 while adjusting voltages in bios and restarting so I can pull down. Then I usually start a bench at a moderate multi and then pull down to full pot and adjust multi higher to what you want. Then I can run at max frequency of chip. I use the same paste like dancop's post, sometimes a touch more and then put cpu in socket, then lightly place ihs on cpu in socket, but try so hard not to move. Then I loosen each hold down screw like 2 and 1/4 turns and very carefully latch hold down without moving ihs too much. Then I re-tighten each hold down screw like half turns each at a time, I never do the whole 2 1/4, maybe like 1 1/4 total turns each, so I dont chip the corners of die. Asus cpu holder helps so much. If you follow this and dancops post below you will have perfect full pot sessions with skylake, havent tried kaby yet but hoping it's the same. http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=154112
  13. it's normal, a lot of the programs go by the stock speed or multi and dont pick up the bclk change. I only use bios and cpuz to make sure I am at the correct speed and ignore everything else.
