Math turns benchmark: y-cruncher meets HWBOT
Taloken replied to Mysticial's topic in Benchmark software
Hi ^^ Trying y-cruncher at the moment, congrats for the well integrated Hwbot wrapper ! 25M and 1B done, i'm currently running the 10B ... see you the next decade FX-8350 and 16GB, i put the bench on my hdd and enabled the swap mode. Now, 54% completion for 1h11. Just a question, y-cruncher use the disk where it is, or it use system disk ? maybe my ssd is getting raped x) Edit : ok i see the files, it use current hdd, my ssd is safe ^^' -
Hi guys ! stages ranking are broken, seems like the average is badly calculated

On Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, i have the alert message about HPET enabling, but it is based on Seven no ? Also, the "cancel with mouse" is pretty annoying on non-dedicated bench rigs. Can there be a checkbox to toogle it ?

Nvf2 isn't sponsorised by any brand. Or maybe by bucket and salt vendors ? -
How far G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series (F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM) go...?
Taloken replied to trodas's topic in General overclocking
Holy book of DDR3 IC : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?285767-DDR3-IC-thread If double-sided, certainly 2Gb D-Rev, a bit lucky. G.Skill 1600c7, 1866c8 and 2133c9 are usually 4Gb B-Rev single-sided (for 4 Go modules), i have 2 kits like that, not really viable beyond the XMP. But even with D-Rev, it will not perform as good as TridentX 2400/2600c8/9. -
This sounds good indeed, what about apply this progressively on the time ? (Disclaimer : potential bullshirt idea) Like a brand-new VGA will keep HWP as it is now (and why not less), but older card get a boost in his HWP each year (or 6 months, or month, but it's time consuming and a more frequent update need more precise calculs) Let me take an exemple (with arbitrary numbers, just to show my mind) : Year 3015 - GTX 800 and R9 800 are brand-new cards. HWP thresold is X, slope is Y. - GTX 700 and R9 700 are last year cards. HWP thresold is lowered X-5%, slope is increased Y+5%. - GTX 600 and R9 600 are 2-years old cards. HWP thresold is lowered X-7%, slope is increased Y+7%. - GTX 200 and R9 200 are old-school cards. HWP thresold is lowered X-20%, slope is increased Y+20%. Year 3016 - Release of GTX 900 and R9 900. Standard HWP thresold/slope. - GTX 800 and R9 800 are now 1-year old. HWP thresold is lowered X-5%, slope is increased Y+5%. - GTX 700 and R9 700 are now 2-years old. HWP thresold is lowered X-7%, slope is increased Y+7%. - GTX 600 and R9 600 are now 3-years old. HWP thresold is lowered X-10%, slope is increased Y+10%. - GTX 200 and R9 200 are more-old-school cards. HWP thresold is lowered X-25%, slope is increased Y+25%. And so on, with of course a cap on the HWP awarded by the time cards get older. Wanna GLP ? Buy new-gen. Wanna HWP ? Dig old-gen. Same can be applied to CPU if you want. Ofc, this suppose we have the release date of each model in database, and if not, time to recruit an army. Also (less impacting), theres the issue of rebranded AMD as 2 or 3 gen can share the same GPU ID.

Australian Open : Jeu Set and Match ! Congratulations to all countries for this another great edition of Country Cup ! Podium was our objective of this year, but a 7th place is not so bad in regards of the little means we managed to have this year So Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and c u next year ! -

Whatever rule is put on this comeptition, it will ALWAYS be subjective. Min temp at zero ? people lauching realtemp at heating, easy cheat -> nope Max temp >20 ? people screaming about salted ice -> nope Some temp at "ambient" ? people screaming about canadians, russians and inuits -> nope No limitations ? no cheating possible, and people still continue screaming -> nope ... This thing of enthusiast going subzero with salted ice (perhaps as expensive as dice, ln2 and SS somewhere?) is discussed in several topics on this forum, so maybe create a general one, without DRAMA and with propositions of SOLUTIONS. -

Hi ^^ Cool-T submitted a 3DM06 result, but as it's not his best, it shows "no points" and is not added in our ranking : http://hwbot.org/submission/3062030_ Can it be solved or does he have to beat his best score ? (Yeah i know, 0.1 HWP, but it's purely for the psychological goal to have scores as most as possible) -
No search for "any" benchmark?
Taloken replied to Apfelkuchen's topic in HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions
+1, as long as there's at least one parameter set, whatever it is, only a finite portion of the whole database will be retrieved. -

Even in rookies and novices, he applied the same methods, never rejected : mass of 360 rads in salted ice. Nothing new. And he is really good at searching efficiency. -
It would require to always add a rig photo, as many people leave cooling at "Standard stock cooling" whatever they are on air/water/ln2. And the scaling of these "cooling points" have to be studied so ln2 keep the lead in global ranking. Not interesting to see a watercooling guy be #1. Or these points can be "league points".
