Have you done this before? Any tips for anyone who'd like to do this? -

Hi @Brycter! Nice to see you around. I think the overclocking capabilities of your hardware will be quite limited considering you don't have the -K version of the Core i5. You can try increasing the BCLK a bit to get maybe 5% increase on air cooling. -
Strange pm's ... anybody ???

Please keep reporting, we're trying to close the loopholes for the spambots that have been having a go at the forum lately -
Thanks for the help!! Forwarded information to @richba5tard FYI, HWBOT Prime code is shared on Github: https://github.com/frederikcolardyn/hwbotprime. If you have time or interest, you can always commit fixes to the benchmark

Overclocking.guide - Gain performance for free!
Massman replied to Massman's topic in Overclocking.guide
It's because you're trying to use the integrated graphics in combination with non-K overclocking. Non-K overclocking is achieved by disabling power management features inside the CPU. Among other things, it governs the integrated graphics. When you enable non-K overclocking (typically if BCLK >102.9 MHz), the power management is disabled and along with it all the things it governs. This includes the integrated graphics, C-states and AVX-256. Long story short: you cannot use integrated graphics with non-K overclocking. You need a discrete graphics card. -

Nice! -
Hmm, normally you'd be able to use the ASUS flashback feature but I don't think it's available on your board. Maybe with FPT tool?

Which board are you using and what BIOS are you trying to flash?

Had a peek at the Overclockers League and found Dhenzjhen at the top of the leaderboard. I had the privilege of meeting Dennis last month at IDF and can confirm he's a really friendly guy! :ws: I had a peek at the profile of "the server guy" to see how he got there. Global Points 1 massive score with a dozen Tesla M40s 5x Core i3 6100 4x Core i7 5820K 3x Core i7 6700K 2x GeForce GTX 980 Ti Hardware Points 3x GeForce GTX 580 2x Radeon HD 3870 GDDR4 2x GeForce GTX 580 SLI 3x GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2x GeForce 9800 GT 5x GeForce 8800 GTX 1x GeForce GTX 560 1x Core i5 4670K Great all-around bencher :celebration: :celebration: :celebration:

Hey guys, I was asked by some people to detail as to why there is a fee in the Wild Card contest as there is quite an uproar about it. I understand why some people could be upset about the fee. When discussing the World Championship with the rest of the staff, it was clear that it would be good to host an online qualifier. Then, the Championship wouldn't be limited to people who can attend World Tour events. Our problem is that this could get very expensive in flights and blow a hole in our budgets. We tried looking for partners, but as you all know the budgets for extreme overclocking have shrunk dramatically in the past couple years. Our alternative is to charge an entry fee to hopefully cover the flight and accommodation of the winner. (worst case it still blows a hole in the budget) In exchange, we contacted partners to provide some nice prizes for the top spots. Also, we ensured that the hardware limitations are restricted to affordable hardware. This lowers the overall cost of participation (compared to other competitions). If you find the entry fee unacceptable and choose not to participate, that is of course up to you. We organized over 100 competitions free entry this year and will continue to do so in the future. Have a nice day all

The wallpaper* will be up by the end of the day, allowing anyone who wants to prepare to bench up front. The competition itself opens only on the 10th, after the pre-registration closed. Sorry for the confusion

HWBOT extreme makeover
Massman replied to Rauf's topic in HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions
@Rauf: I've heard many people say they like the way the League is structured exactly because it doesn't force them to compete every month to have a decent ranking. I understand both points of view, and they are both very legitimate approaches to the hobby. But incredibly hard to combine. Perhaps a solution is to increase the value of the Challenger Divisions to 250 points for round? (just an arbitrary figure). The the League could be based on: Top-10 OCE points Top-15 Global points Top-20/30/40 Hardware points That would certainly shift the balance in the direction of the competition points. But the Challenger divisions do ensure that everyone has a way to compete for big points: from i7 to i3, FX to APU, and even the old-school overclockers. At first thought, I think we should then also have the user pick his division in the user profile and only points from that Division would count to the League. This to prevent that grinding the Challengers is the way to score lots of points. This would require fairly low amount of effort on the development side and is also not so disruptive. It would be easy to start from Jan 1st in that case (aligning with the OCE season). -
October 10, noon GMT+8. At that point we announce the contestants and there's a week to submit. The competition page will be available by the end of the day (so everyone can prepare their scores to submit between October 10 and October 17.

This would be a killer score with a different CPU haha -
Sorry, was on the road last week and every time forgot to reply to the thread. I don't think it's a secret, but I do feel uncomfortable talking specific numbers in public. I was aiming for 100 units, but that's not high enough. It is partially because of Z170 being end of life and the LN2 board no longer being produced actively. So it would require setting things up at the factory again which in light of Z270 coming soon would be wasting manufacturing time I guess.
