It's pretty much true. Non-K CPU overclocking was only possible on Skylake because of a microcode exploit and it had very nasty consequences (no AVX, no IGP). Since Sandy Bridge, that's the way overclocking is. H- and B- chipsets have been unlocked by vendors for some brief moments in time, but all the "good" overclocking boards are Z-based.

What was the previous installation's version number? There were a couple of intermediate releases of XTU.
