  1. Yeah, we should follow the vendor guidelines. Those are official. So, moving needs to be done ?
  2. - Asus Rampage IV Extreme --- 0083b: download
  3. 1) There is no brand limitation for the graphics card, only for the mainboard 2) The GTX580 is what MSI/HWBOT expects to be necessary to win, but it's not a limitation in itself. The limitation is "a single gpu graphics card". HD 6970 + Celeron G530 is a system that can definitely be used for the competition!
  4. But who want trust me if I already did wrong?
  5. OBR cannot do a wrong. CPU under NDA!
  6. I can't really find any clear documentation that points to the existence of an GMA HD 1000 series. Does someone have anything better than this wikipedia link? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_HD_Graphics
  7. 91°C is really high; you should check your mounting first. Maybe the high temp is causing issues.
  8. Quickly tested V1.3 BIOS. DDR3-2400 is now working fine with GTX8 (didn't before). Nice board!
  9. Urh, $1885. Luckily, we only 'need' it for Vantage or 3DMark11. Heaven DX11 FTW!
  10. Q1-2012, that's CeBIT launch. 14k physics stock ... that's well over 20k overclocked. Dayum!
  11. Works in regular X79 board? If yes => why bother with X3960
  12. Soon .....
  13. Yeap. The key is to disable the PLL override and not have a hard reboot with system shutting down. And changing CPU ratio always makes the system hard reboot. By the way. When you shutdown the system and power it up manually again (without changing settings), it will not be able to boot into OS again at 50x100. You need to go back into the bios and trick PLL again. //edit: just found out that you don't need to 'disable' it. Just change the value. If it's enabled, you disable. If it's disabled, you enable. LOL!
  14. Yes, you got it wrong. Without that PLL disable process I cannot boot into windows, but with the process I can. Only works with GD65 for some reason. It's not a big deal, just something interesting.
  15. I know, right! Why set standards so low?!
  16. 170% of the voters think it's my fault? Better than expected!
  17. I agree with Flanker when he says that the reviewer needs to clearly state how results are obtained or if there's a reason why a certain product is faster or slower. For instance, for the Sandy Bridge-E mainboard comparisons, the reviewer should always point out that one board is faster than the other because it has a fixed turbo frequency of 39x. That fixed turbo frequency is a feature of the board's BIOS and if this feature is enabled on all the retail boards, it's important for end-users to know. The same goes for this registry tweak. An editor could write that Bulldozer appears to be quicker in WinRAR, but that it's due to a bug in windows causing the application not to make full use of all the hardware's features. And, that with a simple registry tweak, you can improve the performance easily. Not so easy. I've been looking for information on the IMC/ring frequency for a long time now, but it's documented nowhere. I don't see anything in that particular section of the documentation that specifies the IMC frequency running at DDR3-1333. All I see are references to transfer rates and DDR3 frequencies, with 1333MHz being the highest officially supported DRAM frequency on SB and DDR3-1600 being the highest officially supported on SB-E. We don't know how fast the IMC is running. It can be 1:1 with the CPU frequency, it can be 1:1 with memory (although I seriously doubt that). It might be 2:3, maybe even 1:2 ... we can only guess.
  18. 30th is the correct date. The competition page is ALWAYS right. Even if you think it's wrong, it's right .
  19. So GD65 BIOS = GD65 8D bios ? (same name)
  20. - MSI X79A-GD65 8D --- V1.3: download - MSI X79A-GD45 --- V1.30: download - Asus Rampage IV Extreme --- 0079b: download --- 0803: download --- 0703: download
  21. No ES allowed, not even for 3D stages.
