  1. Sooo, does anyone know what this is?
  2. Just got the board in today and throwing it on the test bench already. The board has been available since X79 launch, so I guess most of you are familiar with all the features. I noticed there are many features such as pcie lanes, usb slots, sata connections, fan headers, audio and more of all that. Now let's see how the clocks are ! Setup - i7 3960X ES - X79A-GD65 (bios 1.2b1) - 4x 2GB Dominator GTX8 - GeForce 8400GS (for now) - Silent Pro M1000 PSU Pictures Just a few, there are far better pictures out on teh interw3bz already so you can check out those! Results - coming soon, stay tuned -
  3. Weirdly enough ... there are a lot of chips that maxing out around those clocks. Mine did 4.8G, even with just two cores enabled. And the chip can definitely do more than that. Did you test on R4E too? Word on the e-street is that board had a similar issue in first beta versions but then got solved with bios updates??
  4. Dino said the new BIOS would be uploaded tomorrow?
  5. - MSI X79A-GD65 8D --- V1.2b1: download Just booted up the board and was really impressed by the quick UEFI interface. Love it! Now hope the OC is fine too ...
  6. I can't change the stages on the competition page (they're all linked up with the limitations etc). I can make another diagram, I think. Why don't you mention the stages by their title?
  7. Wtf about retail C1 incompatibility ... I think there are new BIOSes coming out. There should be ... need some other fixes too. Oh, hey, could we all complain with one big petition to give us more than 4 bios profiles and allow is to name them so we can see which one is loaded? I tried auto and setting them manually. No change.
  8. Wut?
  9. Quicktest under LN2 to check if the CPU behaves in the same way. That high voltage wasn't necessary, set it just to be sure. Clocking is similar to the Sabertooth both in terms of temp range, memory issue and max clock. Not a good chip, in other words. Also trying to get both 1.25x and 1.67x BCLK multiplier working. So far, I can almost boot into windows with the 1.67x ... just need a little more hw tweaking. TBC.
  10. Add/remove the '2011' from the URL and then it should work.
  11. It's not planned for R4.4 (since the features for that rev were planned a month a go), so probably R4.5.
  12. The best advise I can give is to just get rid of Internet Explorer. It's probably the best advise anyone can give.
  13. Anyone found a good way to quickly bin these chips? It seems that the SB K-sku routine is no longer applicable (at least no on this board) as the turbo multplier only kicks in when actually entering the operating system and no longer when the boot options are being shown. So, no blinking cursor anymore. Also, it seems that the chips really need colder temperatures to show the max CPU OC capability ~ 0°C. With low temperatures binning should be relatively easy (NickShih mentioned 1 per 5 minutes), but not on air anymore.
  14. It's technically not a "backup game" if you don't submit your lesser scores first. You're describing the "sandbagging game"
  15. Seems like a good way to upgrade to X79. Either you go for the overall prize, or you feel incredibly lucky
  16. Added a bunch of bugs to our backlog. R4.4 is a tight squeeze, though, and we really want to push for a couple of other features.
  17. You can make several submissions and the engine will detect your best one. Do note, though, that tactics also come in play. You need to communicate with fellow countrymen so you're sure you don't block anyone else's best score. For instance: - User A: 1500p with GTX285, 1450p with GTX275 - User B: 1499p with GTX285, 1300p with GTX275 - User C: 1400p with GTX280, 1200p with GTX275 The engine will calculate: AVG of GTX285 (user A) + GTX280 (user C) + GTX275 (user B) = 1400p. However, since user A has a much better score with the GTX275 than user B, the smart thing to do would be for user A to not submit with his GTX285 but leave that for User B. The, the engine will see: - User A: 1450p with GTX275 - User B: 1499p with GTX285, 1300p with GTX275 - User C: 1400p with GTX280, 1200p with GTX275 And the result would be: AVG (1499p (285) + 1400p (280) + 1450p (275)) = 1449.66p This kind of tactics are only necessary on the very last day of a stage, though. You can just submit all scores now and afterwards check which you're going to use for the final score.
  18. These are the acronyms you need to know to understand HWBOT. When talking about teams POL = Pro OC League OCL = Overclockers League EL = Enthusiast League HWM = Hardware Masters TL = Teams League When talking about points HWBoints = (all) points at HWBOT UP = User Points TP = Team Points UHP = User Hardware Points UGP = User Global Points UCP = User Competition Points UWP = User Worldrecord Points TPP = Team PowerPoints HTPP = Hardware Team PowerPoints GTPP = Global Team PowerPoints Also: here are the formulas (as a reminder) POL = TOP 15 (UGP+UWP) + UCP OCL = TOP 15 (UGP+UWP) + TOP 20 UHP + UCP EL = TOP 15 UGP + TOP 20 UHP * HWM = SUM(UHP) *: only results on stock, air or watercooling with system picture will be accounted for TL = GTPP + HTPP + UP/10
  19. Ouch!
  20. The countries are ranking by: - amount of scores - average of scores So, a team with bad average but with all 5 scores will always be ranked higher than a team with great average but only 4 scores.
  21. Yeap. Same issue on F3k, by the way; happens everytime the system does a hard reboot.
  22. We installed R4.3 this morning, which had a total recalculation of ALL rankings, so it's taking much much longer than usual. At the moment, we're at: "Approx. 14855/34430 members, 222436 submissions recalculated."
  23. The ranking is probably not yet recalculated.
