  1. That logic is circular: we shouldn't do something new because it hasn't been done in the past.
  2. Perhaps it's time for the OC community to put their foot down ...
  3. This was what made Vantage a problem: http://www.hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=858
  4. The key element in 3DMark score validation has always been the subtest scores. Experienced overclockers can spot a bugged run based on a small subtest deviation. Fewer data (= score only) means it's a lot more difficult to find bugged scores. Bugged ... or cheated scores.
  5. I think most stages are doable on air cooling, but ... it's not going to be easy if you want low timings for ultimate performance
  6. It's 'possible'. Definitly not user-friendly
  7. Wouldn't that be sending the wrong signal? I mean, look at the 3DMark score window. Next to the details tab, there's enough room to show all the subtest scores. I'm pretty sure Futuremark knows what the oc community needs as a bare minimum to use a benchmark frequently. - offline score - offline subtest score - save file - upload from non-DX11 setup (preferably also from any OS) I understand why they prefer to have everyone look online, though.
  8. Hahahaha! Please don't go all discrimination about this. The more the word is used, the less meaning is attributed to it. Let's only use this word when needed .
  9. It's merged in this one: http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14584
  10. No ...
  11. Moved some posts to have a single discussion thread
  12. For Deneb, 900MHz 32M stable is already quite nice! Thuban normally gives a small boost, but you need a compatible set of memory and mainboard to fly over DDR3-2200, I think. It will be interesting to see how far you can push the setup with thuban. (fyi - this might be interesting for you: http://hwbot.org/competition/hwb_ddr3_hcc
  13. A screenshot will always be mandatory. It also feels quite wrong to force people to pay for the benchmark even if they just want to submit one result. It's not our goal to have overclockers pay for the development of a benchmark (or this site for that matter), so just like Vantage it's not that straight-forward to just add the benchmark. Keep in mind that without an advanced key you wouldn't be able to submit a result to HWBOT. To be honest, I was thinking this weekend to just add it without points and see where it goes ... but the lack of subtests changed my mind again.
  14. When the community asks for it. It's a major drawback that there are no subtest details visible in any screenshot. Those subtest details are vital in result moderation of, for instance, bugged runs.
  15. Unigine is indeed coded so it launches the right DX version
  16. You broke a 2,5Y old record, nice!
  17. So, what do you guys think? To summarize: + New DX11 benchmark - Subtest details not visible offline - Basic version = no offline score - Not possible to submit score from non-DX11 system To overcome the lack of subtest details, we could make a verification link mandatory. This, however, goes against the HWBOT principle of keeping participating as low-cost as possible. Forcing people who recently started overclocking to invest in a benchmark just to be able to submit a score goes against this principle. Screenshots without the subtest details are not worth much as the subtest details helps users to compare easily and moderators to quickly catch bugged scores.
  18. //edit: just realized this is the November thread. We are December now.
  19. Fixed your user name
  20. Pretty clear. User banned.
  21. Actually, not at all. All I'm saying is that it's possible women currently don't get involved because of reasons other than skill. Meaning I assume skill is present and wonder how come they don't join live competitions that often. If there's any circumstancial reason why women don't often join competitions (as an overclocker, not as a side-kick), perhaps that can be partially removed by giving a higher chance on qualifying. Or as everyone else puts it: "I want to give a million free tickets to anything that looks slightly like a women". "For teh moneys" I said IF, by which I meant: "if the vast majority of the top overclockers are from a specific region, is it okay to also have the vast majority of a live comp being selected from that region".
  22. I know at least 5. That's more women than Kiwis . Anyways, you don't have to be a mathematician to see the common trend here. Well, at least I tried.
